I mean why not?

In game, when you bludgeon, cut, maim, crush, and/or otherwise engage in physical violence against an undead, they still die just like everthing else… so I’m not sure why everyone is suddenly bent out of shape over this?

When have the Forsaken ever been shown to be impervious to physical damage? They may be resistant to pain, but if you crush their bones or destroy their bodies, that should still render them quite dead(er).

The lore even states that Forsaken eventually rot away regardless, hence the whole needing to raise more plot line, which implies if their bodies are broken down enough they can no longer sustain their animated/living (un-living) status.

So, to those who were apparently under the impression that the Forsaken were effectively immortal- You were mistaken.

Last I checked you can still drown as Forsaken too.

EDIT: Just learned they have perma underwater breathing, I’m thinking back in Classic when they didn’t.

Blizzard probably didn’t consider the broader lore implications either way. It was just “rule of cool.”

If you really look/think hard there are some contradictions about how undeath works in WoW, I don’t think it really makes sense to analyze it that closely. It’s not really that kind of story.

Who says they are really dead? Maybe they just realized fighting Sourpuss and Green Jesus at the same time was a bad idea and are playing dead till they leave so they can report back to Sylvie.

Neck snaps themselves usually aren’t instantly fatal (that is unless some of the bone fragments from the vertebrae end up hitting the brain stem. Then RIP). That’s usually embellishment for entertainment purposes. But even if not immediately fatal, severing the spinal cord like that would cause instant paralysis from the neck down.

+10 negligible damage to the ACL. I was never going to be an athlete anyway. Way too many health problems, you could say.
