Not everyone plays for the social aspect. I’ve done plenty of social things in WoW. It all boils down to the same mindless random chats about nothing generally. “Small chat” or w/e it’s called. I’m gud, no ty.

I’d say I do a pretty decent job all things considered.
I think it is fair to point out if you are a regular player who does not play the hardcore style (RP-servers). It doesn’t matter how you look on a regular server. You can jump around, wear your yeti Blizzcon sleeping suit or just run around in circles. Nobody cares.
But the moment you enter a RP-server, things drastically change. Gladiator mounts have no place and show lack if professionalism and story-knowledge. You are branded as a Mary Sue for not realizing that you want to enjoy a power fantasy. In return you’ll get a community, what many people are lacking these days. Organized events and so on.
I have been always discussing this from the perspective of RPers, because we require more stuff and research/work harder than regular players for what is required for. A stupid goat mount has more value than a gladiator mount, because it’s usable and widely accepted by the RP-community. What Blizzard did was to handcuff several items which are required or foster actual immersion on RP-servers, which is not acceptable. That’s the reason alone several items need to be rereleased again, because Blizzard did not provide enough race/class-fantasy items to justify the “high fantasy” setting. Just look at the adventurer suit, it’s a RAF-item, although it’s a lore-based set which should be available to all players. It’s absolutely stupid how they haven’t brought this in as an Archaeology reward in the first place. It’s a FOMO, for some reason.
I’m one of those peeps. 
I look at MMO’s as a game first… or any game as a game first. If the game is good, i might stay and chit-chat. If not, then… Imma make like an Usain and bolt outta here.
Yeah im on the old school silverhand paired with moonguard not as much rp these days, but no one really cared much about pvp/glad mostly raid tier.
Sure someone might say nice tmog or something but they arent going to stop everythig just gawk.

Both outcomes are meh for someone else it seems, I’ve also played since launch and over 4 accounts. First was in the UK moved back to Australia and had to start again. So I lost my classic and TBC OG acc. Then my two accounts got hacked and now I’m playing on my 4th. Hence why I couldn’t give a rats about prestige items, too much injustice makes me PvP excessively lol

We have a fear players with the title on AD-EU, but nobody truly cares for this. RP-servers makes their own titles which suits them better anyway.
I also have many things people desire - but I wouldn’t mind sharing it with others. I do not know how often you had to tell people that they cannot get what you want and every time it was met with disappointment, frustration and venting.
The recent scandals put also a new perspective on the whole loyalty spin for a company for me. It’s simply not worth it. Some stupid developers act all high and mighty as if they were at the top of the world but I’m the person who finance their monthly income. I’m not having this anymore, especially after the breastfeeding milk thing what happened over there. Will I switch games? No, I made a decision to play just one MMO in my life and I will go with this.
These spoiled people have no idea how hard an actual life is and how many good-hearted people would deserve their spot in the wow-team for making the game better for everyone. I became harsher towards the developers in general, because they do not deserve anything else. The game does not reflect 2022, they have been harvesting our money and did nothing to update older mounts for all the money they get. Absolutely nothing. No updated old transmogs, no character bug fixes, lack of heritage armors and accessories, everything is FOMO or timegated.
No, it’s time for a radical change.
