You miss out on a lot of great games though, if you only ever play wow.
Wow has some nice stuff, sure, but it is extremely mediocre, often giving you only the bare minimum and it is far behind some others games in many aspects.
Casuals dont really try in the first place cause they are casual and for raid stuff wait 1 or 2 expansions and farm it.
Glads you have to play the ladder like its a fulltime job for rating and break into 0.5% of the ladder.
Easiest way for a glad was basically swap to new server and rack the rating early gear up and out gear everyone else for a season.
Thats when glads lost their prestige it was just that simple.

Agreed ck3, god of war, ff14, even runescape and swtor have their perks.
Wow has aged horribly sometimes feels like its headed to a candy crush loot box bare min content game.
While others are see whats popular and trying to recreate, adapt, or improve wow is steadly removing.
Ignoring what was fun because of some streamer or an esport guild just a sad sight.

I’m sure this has been brought up already but purchasing something for real $ isn’t really a flex. Just means you had a wallet at that time.
If you want to flex, do it with hard to obtain mounts that you have to grind for, not ones you pay for.

Yeah they act like they are loosing something especially like raid/glad mounts just link the achieve lol.
Not like blizz is going to give them the aotc or glad achieve if they put a mount on shop or bmah.
I was one of the people, who played wow exclusively. Then bfa and shadowlands came and I finally tried out other games. It really opened my eyes on how outdated and often times toxic wow’s game design is.
For some reason though many wow players get very easily triggered, if other titles get mentioned, especially ff14 for some reason. 
I saw the light with wod I knew that was going to be a dumpsterfire only came back when it was like $20 and 6months life left on it.
I made mistake of preorder legion had buyers remorse gave it one more go with bfa tapped out with SL.
That was until free weekend and got DF only to be disappointed they rely far to heavily on the riding.
Overall content its everything that was from the filler end of expan content going as far back as timeless.
Just all packed together shores is by far the worse almost like they crammed so much into it they couldnt figure out what to add in the last 3 zones.
The same people crying about the cash expanding are the same ones applauding it expanding and rare drops being devalued to the point of LFR drops.
I think Blizzard has kinda backed themselves into a corner and left themselves with no choice but to start cashing in on items that we as players have deemed valuable or exclusive.
So far as the Blizzard store is concerned, there are diminishing returns on making prettier and prettier mounts with increasing frequency, it was inevitable that they start dipping back into old items because they can extract cash (or ongoing subs) from us for relatively crappy old items that cost no new resources to develop, items that are desirable/cool/coveted or whatever based purely on players wanting them because they missed out or didn’t put in the effort back when they were originally available.
Not saying i agree or disagree with the tactic, I’m just saying that you could see it coming a mile away and there will be a lot more to come.

I’m not really happy about Dragonflight either. After my sub ends (in about 6 days) I probably won’t return for the next few months. It depends on what the devs will give us with the next content patch, if I’ll return. Right now Dragonflight is rather underwhelming in my opinion.
Better than bfa and shadowlands, but far from what I would expect from a modern game… and for a game with a monthy sub fee and a cash shop and expansion costs.
I got the free 30 days package so got month or so left honestly havent even bothered to log in and its been 2 weeks.
One my biggest greivances is the wrathion sab reps took a look at the cosmetics and one required a jc bop mat.
Im a bs no way am I going to drop 14+yrs of bs plans to grind out jc for a single cosmetic.
So my only option is to regrind out like 100 keys on a jc to get 1 cosmetic lol no thanks.
There is no reason for me to bother with any of the reps other than I did it so why bother lol.
Keep running into that time and time again with each the factions why should I care about any of them.
Its tailoring/lw/enchant required for a cosmetic not even worth the gold to buy the mats to trade.
And best part is I made a new toon took it out there with enchant the required items were different lol bop thread from tailoring.
