I have all of them unlocked. The Mag har chain stands out to me as being longer and relative to the other races more challenging. Though I would still not consider it difficult.
Why not…
Would you like to spend several weeks grinding gnome rep in order to play that gnome?
If I wanted to play it, and that’s what was required to unlock it. Obviously.
I’d rather not be forced into playing an ugly goat before I got to play a human.
Are you calling Draenei ugly? Good thing for you, you can play a human without having to play a Draenei.
No one’s “forcing” you to do anything.
And whichever race you were playing before the one you want so desperately was released was good enough for you then…so what changed?
Which is how it should be if anyone came into the game wanting to play an ugly kultiran. Not be forced to play an ugly human.
Forget about the grind mumbo jumbo, if blizzard Just made the allied playable race look exactly like their NPC counterparts I would have been happy, that’s all I ask.
Kinda weird we didn’t get an option for those skinny kultirans. Though considering how lazy allied “races” were, i’ll assume it was that.
You’re calling me ugly? You look like melted ice-cream, and walk like you’ve got a whole marching procession lodged up your hind end. You’re hiding your face because you’re a meek little priest, who probably thinks inquisitorial characters are endearing.
And worst of all, you forgot to put shoes on! Cover up those socks!
Exactly, why force players into playing these awful humans when they should be able to play WHAT THEY WANT, that being KULTIRANS.
They’re meant to represent malnourished, slave-labor types of folk. They’re also just a reskin of the undead model. Nobody wants them, aside from a few disgruntled RPers.
Then they should earn their loyalty first!
Loyalty they didn’t have to earn for all the other several races.
Because their story was set up that way. With Allied Races, their story is directly tied into the player character earning their trust. Again, how are allied races any different from meta-acheivements?
You just think a week or two of world-quests on top of finishing the zone quests is some tedious, horrible, backbreaking peasantry work.
I like the allied races, I just wish they added more lore and story content to them after the unlocking.
Every few levels give people rolling an allied race some sort of story driven quest that expands on their lore, I think this would have been a better way to reward the heritage armor as well as they level.
kinda weird considering that while playing through classic, i wasn’t able to purchase a mount because the other races didn’t trust me. Just seems a bit inconsistent. And then there’s the issue of kultirans not releasing months into the expansion when they were advertised as one of the main new contents being added.
I really have to agree. Heres my 2 cents:
It absolutely sucks for new players. If you are going to advertise allied races as a selling point, and someone decides to come back to the game specifically because they want to play said allied race, they aren’t going to go through a ridiculous amount of tedious rep grinding on a character they don’t even want to play.
2.) It doesn’t make sense lore wise. If you are creating a newb char, that char is going through all the lore prior to whatever your main did to “unlock” it.
Like, you could be a nightborne, doing the quest to unlock nightborne…what? Allied races should be a cinematic, a trailer for a patch or xpac launch that unlocks them globally, and explains how or why they are now in the mix.
3.) This point may be contested, but I think a good compromose would be you cannot race change to an allied race until you do some rep stuff.
What does this discussion have to do with classic? They have their own quarantine forums and servers, it needs to stay there.
They announced this early and said that they would be delayed, instead we got Dark-irons sooner. I’d prefer my unique model and animations over being unfinished. The only issue kul-tirans have now I believe is a clipping issue with eyepatches.
