The Tinker hits all of Blizzard Criteria’s on the Head
It’s from Warcraft 3. Doesn’t break the Lore. It’s already got the framework for 2 different specs. DPS and Tank. They’d barely have to lift a finger.
As a bonus, It’s not like any existing class, It doesn’t “steal” any abilities.
I have nothing against the idea of tinker, and i do actually like that idea quite a bit. Not gonna stop me from theorizing about what could be a fun new class. Thematically, the only class that directly uses void energy is priest’s shadow specialization… and warlock, if you count the voidwalker, which used to be classified as a demon. We got mage who is the entirely based off arcane magics, warlock that is entirely fel magics, Druid which uses nature magics, shaman for elemental, paladin for holy/light, death knight for death/shadowlands magic, and priests that dabble in holy/light and void magics. Its not far fetched that they give us a class entirely focused around harnessing the void. Sure, there was no void knight class in the warcraft games, but there were a lot of things in current wow that weren’t in the RTS games. Some of the allied races, several of the artifacts, locations, major lore characters, etc. Hell, if i remember correctly the void was not even super well defined back in the RTS games. I ask that you quit arguing on whether or not we should, If you dont like the idea that is fine and dandy. Im not trying to change anyone’s mind, im just posing a concept for people to have fun and be creative with.
Could observe those influenced by the Shadow are quite Cunning and Deceptive. “One Lie can shatter an alliance and one drop of poison can cripple a giant.”
I believe this class would have a ton in Common with the Nathrezim.
Think that may be better off as a Spec for the Paladin, Priests have Shadow, why not Paladins? Be a interesting twist but where they come from is another question.

Zandalari paladins can draw light from all loas btw.
Specs were suggested above as to why this would warrant a new class instead of a spec or skin.

Has anyone ever played Divinity OS2? There is a mod for a Void Knight class in the game and it’s pretty fun. They could draw some inspiration from there.
Furthermore, I like the idea of reverting the Priest’s shadow spec to what it used to be. Void =/ shadow to me and with a new class based on Void we can have both. Maybe a couple melee specs with a ranged one as well? I really like this concept. It would be awesome if they looked into it.

A shadow priest version of a paladin - call it whatever you like - would be the only paladin I’d ever play. That would be exceedingly rad.
Why not a happy class for once. Do we really need another edge lord elf fan service class.
Honestly… of all the “new class” posts, this one is most surprising and i actually like it a lot. There is a lot of ways blizz can work with this one.
A lot of these very unique corruption effects we will be losing after 8.3 can be Inspiration for the Void Knight spells.
Only thing im not super for is the name. Void knights is close to the highly specific death knight. Even void warrior might be better, even though warrior is another class, its also a more vague term. Void tender? Voidist?

I like the idea and would love to see it in game, but two things make me reluctant:
I would like to see this added after or maybe alongside the addition of a ranged and/or caster class, but that’s just me griping.
Another melee, i didnt think about that too much. I bet they could make it one of those mid-range melee. Not sure if yall ever played Wildstar, but there was 2 melee, 2 long distance ranged, 2 medium distance ranged classes, it was pretty neat.
Kinda like Survival, but without a pet.
I can forsee 1 tank, 1 melee, 1 mid-range spec. Or even 1 rank, 1 mid-range, 1 fully ranged.
I do think Void Knights as a class skin for paladins would work nicely too.
Blizz needs to get on the class skin bandwagon already!
