With the raid finally in full swing… buying anything feels unfortunate. Where there was a steady decline in cost for crafting/consumables there is now stagnant high costs.
Concentration as a stat is wonderful to guarantee the next rank up, but after really seeing how much it has impacted the market for rank 3+ ANYTHING, I believe getting rid of inspiration was a bit of a jump the gun. From a raiders POV something feels like it has to change.
I am unsure of which solution would be the best to allow crafting to stop feeling like a dreaded cost sink, but my first thoughts were either adding back small rng chances or adjusting the recoup of Conc.
Again, the idea of conc? wonderful. However it makes even the smallest components hundreds of gold per ONE given the fact that it costs the exact same amount of conc as something WAY larger, and that feels really bad.
Thank you

It does feel like the cost of raiding has gone up with each expansion for a while now. More consumable types being one part, and the other being more expensive mats for the consumables.
Concentration plays a part in this, because it keeps the prices of R3 mats high. I know this is good for people who want to make gold with professions, especially without super optimizing their professions, but it’s getting really out of hand.
A single 4 hour raid night of R3 consumables on EU easily ends up costing 50k without augment runes (which increase that by 50% or so). This means that a single 3-4 day raid week ends up costing as much as the payout for a mid-season unsaved heroic boost.
Crafted gear and enchants (so more “one time” purchases) are also wildly expensive, enchants and gems easily ending up at 20-30k for a single item, with another 20-25k for the settings on each piece of jewelry.
There’s also some very rare (low droprate) materials that drive up the prices, similar to Titan Orbs in Dragonflight. Those probably need their droprates buffs, just like Titan Orbs.

I feel requiring all rank 3 mats + all tools/accessories + perfect spec to craft rank 3 without concentration was probably pushing it a bit too far for many crafts and with concentration cost being really high even if you’re missing less than 30 points it does seem unreasonable. Add to that the price of crafting plate/weapons with alloys is pretty insane compared to any counterpart because of the increased cost of crafting alloys with alloys.
All those costs ramp up and currently there’s just not way to simply play the game to make that gold back. You either need to take tons of time grinding the mats yourself, buy a wowtoken or sell a boost or play the ah which I’m sure people have gotten millions from it. Doing dungeons or raids are simply gold loss and that does feel terrible to me when that’s the main content I want to interact with. Playing alts and using consumables and crafting their gear become a luxury as I simply can’t afford to play a lot of them.
