Hello, on 12.8.2021 I beat the time walking mage tower on my DK, received the achievement, but didn’t get the new transmog armor. I went the usual route and put in a web ticket, to which the answer was:
"I understand you are missing your Mage Tower Armor set even after completing the challenge and the Achievement. Let me take a look at this for you.
Well, I did some digging and the Mage Tower Class Challenge was removed with Battle for Azeroth. If you are missing any appearance that was unlocked through the challenge, this appearance is no longer obtainable. "
Please may I have my armor transmog set?
*Edit: The GM stated that the “items” were on my account and suggested resetting my interface. I did this, and I still don’t have my transmog armor.
I don’t know precisely if this is the templated response they sent out or if you had already responded to the template with the option at the bottom that “I need more help” (or something to that effect). If you haven’t escalated it, I would definitely do that, it’ll put you into a bit of a higher queue and will get you in contact with a GM.
Otherwise this would probably need to be put over into the Bug Report forum. Customer Support isn’t Customer Service, and while our SFAs are pretty snazzy, they are not GMs. Nothing like this can be fixed here save for the suggestions of doing a full and proper UI reset (not a reload).
It sounds like the Game Master wasn’t aware that the Timewalking event started. It is rare, but it happens, as not everyone is familiar with every aspect of the game. Sorry for any confusion the response caused.
We have received several reports about folks not receiving the appearance after completing the “A Towering Success” achievement. At the moment we do not have a resolution or workaround and are asking that folks report the bug so our QA team can take a look.
Same thing happened to me, completed the tower on my holy pally, zoned out, went to look at the tmog, not in collections, I can’t even see the set in uncollected items.
Just understand that a GM is not going to be able to assist with this bug. As mentioned above by Vrak, there’s currently no workaround or resolution for this bug. It’s best to submit a bug report either in-game or via the bug report forum.
Just a follow up - I completed the exact challenge again - and I received the second half of my achievement (The xmog) upon doing so.
So I can confirm you can still get the transmog set if you’re confident in yourself. Hopefully they fix this though (especially if you’ve been at it for hours)
Same thing here, completed the Guardian Druid challenge got the achievement even but no bear form. sucks been at this for over 8 hours just to not get the reward. put in a ticket to which the response was an automated system referring me to the forums. Sadge. resubbed just to do mage tower and its not even giving me the reward. Tried to complete the kill a 2nd time with multiple 3% wipes and lower but cant seem to get the RNG god on my side to let me actually get a kill again. pretty tired of this damn challenge after i already completed it once. And if a GM isn’t aware of Mage tower being released… that’s pretty crazy… its major content in 9.1.5 yikes…
It honestly really isn’t, though. Game Masters aren’t exclusive to one game, they have to be able to assist across the whole swath of Blizzard games. That they don’t know every detail about every game isn’t surprising (and to expect them to is rather unrealistic), especially if they don’t often get tickets pertaining to a single game.
So basically what we have here is another Blizz bug for something that they delayed the release of previously. Then we get the canned response of submit a bug report but currently everyone this happened to is out of luck so sorry. But they’re working on it so it might be fixed sometime but they don’t know when? You know like the Hearty Dragon Plume chest bug where if you pick it up with one character you can’t get the chest for say your main that is working on the Achievement for it. The bug that has been there since day 1 but they’re still trying to correct it. So glad I resubbed for this not to work.
