Comparing 1.12 honor gear to MC/BWL sets

Could say the same about Classic PvP. You didn’t need to be in a dominant team to churn out blues in a couple weeks. It was EZ.

The difference is time spent, not skill. In this case only.

Only one I could agree on is onslaught girdle, really no replacement for it. Everything else the pvp gear is imo better. Hand of justice > drakefang wont need much hit on a player. Drake talon and chromatic lose only to the 6 piece set bonus of the rank 13 set. Tempered sword loses to the rank 14 1h weapon.

The only two handed weapons that can beat the rank 14 weapons atleast for alliance comes in at naxx for horde it’s off cthun.

You want no diminishing returns and all the bugs and glitches as well?

Let’s put it this way. With the way the honor system is being rolled out (which I agree with) I’m not going to break my neck for R14 gear when BWL gear is there and as good/almost as good.

By the time we are raiding AQ40, almost everything is better.

That’s just my opinion though as someone interested in both.

I won’t be going for the gear either unfortunately I have a wife a child on the way and a full time job rank 14 isn’t even close to my radar. Either way tho it was going to come out eventually.

Yeah I’m a horse trainer. If I can’t do it between 6-10PM CST it ain’t happening lol. As much as I’d love to rank…

I get your points, not disputing them. BWL gear is good though, I don’t see a game balance issue if that is the concern.

No DR’s in PVP really was not that bad… The classes that first got DR’s were Mages and Druids, because they were able to endlessly root. Blizzard cracked down on it because it was way worse than the typical QQ complaints people made about rogues.

Bugs, meh… Who really cares since the kinds of bugs they had back then were typically the kind that just crashed your client. Most of the really bad stuff was worked out long before launch.

Vanilla bug’s may have been irritating, but I would rate it as a better experience than BFA ever can be.

There were 3 different posters on the old forums said it can be done if you have an extremely organized group. Those guys all had Gladiator / Duelist titles addition to their Rank 13 / 14 titles, I looked into it because I was skeptical.

Considering that they were all Rank 13 / 14 players and Glad / Duelist titles from TBC and later, it’s logical to presume they’re not full of it.

Don’t you always want living Gem for PVP IIRC? Or no?

Tier 1 is trash lmao

I’ll definitely give it a shot. The only thing I love as much as Vanilla/BC tanking is wrecking some folks as an Arms Warrior…

It might be true though that you an achieve higher ranks on less hours with a group that knows what they are doing. That would be amazing, and I’d definitely devote 2-3 nights per week to it just to have that 'Nila pre-made mojo again.

Going to be interesting. So many of us have important things to do outside the game. You should hear a barn full of horses that somehow know it is 5:30 and they don’t have feed yet…

Wait what? Lol so a mage or warlock and I’m pretty sure hunters could do it to with freezing trap endlessly ccing you until you have to alt-f4 wasn’t that bad?

Freezing trap never really got harmed by DR even by the end.

That was 2.0 that changed things.

Not really seeing an issue here. The MC gear is still better in many ways for every class. Sure, the PvP gear can be “nice” and help get you going with raiding if that is your path, however I would trade up to the raid gear without hesitation based on what it offers.

Are you accounting for the two piece bonuses? I mean, did you actually compare some items? There are some tier 1 pieces that are better than their PVP counterparts, but for dps roles, particularly… There’s no comparison.

We now know definitively how itemization is going to work in Classic. If you feel the pvp blues are bis and available too soon, that is a legitimate opinion to hold. You can either ignore it, whine about it, or go get the pvp blues yourself.

There are things about Classic that I personally disagree with. There is nothing that has been announced about Classic that will prevent me from having loads of fun in game.

Well having those pvp gear pieces makes it more interesting.

Valid points and I think this post deserves more discussion. There were definitely some patches/gear that were put to equalize the gear differential.

You got it for sure, the 1.10 patch did exactly that… It brought the Blue PVP set up to T2 quality regarding PVP use.

Excluding PVP use, the T2 was better for PVE because those resistance stats and sustainability stats really help in the longer duration of combat that’s PVE.

Blizzard should have listened to this man.

If you do fresh please do the lvl 58 pvp gear and allow ranking from the start. Ranking to blue gear with world pvp while leveling is perhaps the most fun part of a fresh server.

Your community will love it and have a ton of fun!
