Companions - Torghast - Tired of just thinking about it

I know to easily check for companions for the mission board, people say to just go to Layer 5 and reset if it’s not your covenant companion there. But I really just dislike Torghast and for boredom’s sake started thinking;

‘‘Hmmm, wonder if I got them all on my Paladin’’ [have to check third party site]
''Wonder if I want to try to get some on my alts" [Torghast comes to mind :face_vomiting: ]

Is there any way in 9.2 you can have a tooltip of companions that you have and that are missing and possibly put them even in Zereth Mortis or as renown rewards for alts?

This is whole expansion for some reason is not, that, inviting the more I think of everything involved that I may want.

Can never understand why people must have alts to enjoy the game. Do people in med school ever sit around thinking “know what, I’m gonna be a lawyer too and an electrician!”

Its so nice to git gud at 1 thing and git even gudder as time goes on as I learn more. My alts only exist to camp Sha of Disappointment and a few others.

Probably about as often as forum posters who think being a contrarian is a substitute for a personality think “know what, this analogy is terrible and probably shouldn’t make it.”

Different strokes for different folks. Not a hard concept to understand one would think. :man_shrugging:

I’m not gonna explain why I don’t need to have alts to enjoy the game nor my stance on why I dislike the mission table but see the implementation of it all kinda bad.

Mission table = free stuff with little effort. win-win.

Oh, you are one of those :man_facepalming:
Now I see why this game is a casino.

Do you think they don’t have hobbies or stuff they do when they’re not working?

What is worse is equating game [main/alt] to having real life career structures.

I’m not asking for a nobel prize or some hand out  [not directed to you Sarama]

This isn’t real life. Leveling or skill leveling can be done in days not years.

People want to try other classes. Super crazy, right?

I was going in to med school.

Know what else I’ve done, just because? Written/published books, taught ESL and can put someone in a four point restraint for medical/psych reasons.

Amazing how humans can do different things when they actually make the effort, no?

Totally feel you on that. Completely, utterly, totally.

Have you tried grouping for runs in Torghast? I’ve dragged a few alts through there by doing this, and it makes it at least tolerable for the little bits that I do in there.

It’s boring even if you do it the fast way: torghast five, fl 1 only. If rune Carver announces anything other than your covenant (or nothing for meatball/croman) leave and repeat

I have only with one other person and to be honest wasn’t that fun. I think apart from the maw-theme stuff already and annoying cast times on some, the unevenness of whacky powers is off putting.

For ex. I go on as havoc demon hunter and can get really big in meta form and it feels neat and whacky. Then I go on say some other alt of mine and it feels like very ‘safe’ choices with nothing to have fun with.

Then factor in stuff like coldheart or soulforges and I’m reminded why I dislike Torghast

Yup, I have nothing against people who enjoy Torghast, actually envious lol, but it just… from what I saw in early testing, I thought it’d be neat since there were just many levels and you had more fun powers from the looks of it ~ then some testers tried it at launch and were disappointed how much Blizzard changed it.

Yeah I think I might just figure out on a few I’d like to do it, chip away and do things I’ll enjoy. I don’t like much in SL unfortunately but the mission table seems like a last resort to have a ‘side’ thing to do.

Back when I was hitting gold cap Mission tables were a great way to passively get gold when I wasn’t playing. Phone app at work. It was a pain in my side.

And I get that, it’s this easy reward for little effort that people bring up → and my gripe was always that it’s been put in, whether it makes sense or not and now it’s tailored more for mobile instead of thinking how to expand on it in-game so it’s engaging.

I know not all will agree but I felt BFA was the best moment to have a command table, the rest of the times it felt just slapped in to keep you coming back every 4 hrs or 1 day to pick up reward.

Get missions that you pick companions for, and set off on the journey with them. To me that’d give a more engaging experience than a set it and forget it type piece of content. I just dislike the egg-timer mentality they’ve done to date. Don’t forget the 9.2, get currency to get research done [oh finally can get that thing there][click][oh have to wait another day… that’s fun! /s] But that’s me going off topic.

Correct me if I’m wrong but wasn’t battle for Azeroth mission tables just as long or longer than we have now? I remember only being able to do them twice a day max.

Only difference is you didn’t have to be that strategic about it

Oh, sorry, I mean ‘thematically’. I felt like it made sense having a mission table in BFA with what the theme of the expansion was.

Farming the companions in Torghast is easily one of the most mind-numbing things in SL.
The RNG factor also really really really really really sucks.
Seeing Indri for the 30th time when you just need 1 or 2 more Night Fae companions makes me wish you had an option to murder them instead of freeing them.

Now you’re speaking my language :smiling_imp:

Took the words outta my mouth.

My problems with the mission tables, main and alts…
I unsubbed over 9 months came back in November…

So really I only have a main running missions… 3 comps in the 44 range, the rest at the 31 32 range…

I can’t decide to run torghast chasing these missing companions… having them would be good, getting them at level 1 not so much…

I have enough, I think 14 total, to get cherry-pick missions I want to run… gold, aug runes, and pet charms…

That covers my main, kyrian…

Now the problem with alts… I perfer to post up my alts at Korthia, cherry picking dailies there… the travel time between korthia and the covenants isn’t a lot, for one toon, but it’s quite a lot cycling multiple alts.

Yes, I’d like some kinda tooltip info on who is missing… then again, do I actually want level 1 companions…
