Had a friend DM me asking me “where’s the queue for Comp Stomp?” so I went and looked. Lo and behold, nothing. No comp stomp. Nada. Gone. Not real. I made a ticket, and they said for me to post the the forums, so.. here we are.
I’ve read a few of the other articles posted on here. It seems people have come to the conclusion that Battleground Blitz and Korrak’s Revenge take priority, and thus, it doesn’t appear on the queue list.
With many other weekly brawls, I’d probably kinda shrug it off. It’s a loss, sure, but not horrible; I can live without. This, however, is a problem.
At the start of a season, some people rush in head-first to get their gear, pop queues in Rated Arenas like there’s no tomorrow, and aim to hit their desired rating. Others decide to wait until a good amount of that pushing passes, so that the gladiators can get their ranks. This way, they aren’t facing people WAY above their MMR and being decimated in the process.
Comp Stomp is 100% one of the best way to gear up a fresh toon now that it’s been two weeks and a good amount of people who are hard pushing have gotten their initial ranks. While the season’s starting to slowly drift away from honor gear being the BiS as our conquest cap and vault fills out, that honor gear is essential to starting out.
Now, people can’t. Checking the calendar, our last week of Comp Stomp was the first week of September. The next one takes place in the second to last week of February. By then, a good portion of the season has passed, and it’s going to be MUCH harder for people to hop into rated queues when the majority of what they have is honor gear. Arenas are one of the best ways to farm out conquest, and if you’re using Comp Stomp to get that fresh character prepped for the arena that late in.. you’re screwed. You’re not going to have a good time, and you’re not going to want to PvP.
This needs to be addressed. I apologize for the long rant, but in my opinion, announcing a highly-anticipated Brawl then turning around, shrugging and saying “whoops! that’s not gonna happen! oh well!” isn’t great to incentivize PVPers to play. It could be pushed forward to next week, the menu could be expanded/shifted (take this with a grain of salt, I know nothing about game development and how much work this would take), or just coming forward and saying “it isn’t happening, sorry folks” would be perfect.
Once again, sorry for the rant, but this isn’t really cash money.
