I have no idea who in “the community” I’m supposed to check for “rumors” to dig up dirt mounds as part of the secrets achievements.
Wowhead doesn’t list anyone/anything for this part…twitch streamers all had hardcore stuff going on when I looked…am I missing something? Has anyone identified who or even what “community” is supposed to be giving us clues?

Wowhead is full of rampant speculation and datamined stuff everyone thinks we’ll get but won’t. What other rumors are there?
Not sure if your reply was sarcastic? lol…but if not, to clarify I’m asking about the “rumors from around the community” to find “buried satchels” as part of secrets of Azeroth event.
edit to add: can find this if you search on ‘rumors’ in your achievement log it is listed as “Community Rumors”. First one rewards a blue tweed cap (later a pet dog with Community Rumor Mill)
Yes and no. Was genuinely curious; though tbh the quotations made it seem more clandestine than the event. Apologies as I didn’t know thats how event stuff was referred. I hope you find what you’re looking for.
I spent the better part of an hour trying to figure this same thing out last night to no avail, I get that this is supposed to be a mystery/whodunnit event so secrets make sense to keep but I really wish this part of the event was better explained or given a date for when it unlocks or something.
Hopefully someone can come shed some light on this

They are talking about an achievement (and presumably an activity) linked to the secrets of azeroth event
Generally, you have to decipher where to go in the clue and then talk to the people there to get more information.
Wowhead will probably have a writeup on it later today though. These quests were all encrypted so they couldn’t be datamined.
Yep, Wowhead has had details on the stuff that starts in Valdrakken (the ones which begin with the Preservationists) Those are 15 to solve which reward you with the mount eventually and “Whodunnit” (think that’s the achieve name)
What I was asking about was the Community Rumors (linked above by Nikolo)…totally different clues for different dirt piles to find. Blizzard only said in their announcement, “…and even play a little ‘follow the leader’ with some of your favorite community creators to discover some of the secrets Azeroth has to offer.” I’m just clueless which community creators we are supposed to follow to find these dirt piles with the satchels.

I seem to be stuck on one of the most basic steps. I did the first quest and received the Thinking Cap. Two days later and there does not seem to be a continuation from any of the NPCs that sent me around the first day. The Whodunnit achievement shows I have done day one and have the cap.
Go talk to Fangli Hoot again–there’s a second part to the Thinking Cap quest. I missed it too and had to Google it.

It in fact was. This post, coupled with a certain post they made on other social media today, was intended to direct us towards a first satchel.
Sadly the achievement is bugged at the moment and not granting credit for looting it.
The point is to interact with other players not look up a guide lololol
