Community council

Based on what exactly? It’d turn into a popularity contest, and absolutely nothing would get done. The people that complain the most and get rage upvotes would get elected, OR, people that cheese the system.

Currently it’s more like a job application, and that’s probably the way it should be.

You pulling this out of your rear? Show me where I was threatening, swore or anything else?

Who said I believed it? Then the council is bs and just a smokescreen. And WRONG, there is indeed a way to vote from thousands. They could take nominations for the council from the community and among those only say a top few are selected from the “thousands”. Gee its like humanity hasn’t been doing voting for a while now…

Thats why I don’t join “lgbtq discords” anymore. A drama show in the coming days. Let the light shine on that darkness. :sunny:

I was not talking about YOU specifically. I was talking about people in general.

There is some sort of unwritten forum rule, or maybe internet rule, that to be considered valid criticism something has to be profane, insulting, or threatening. Otherwise it is not “criticism”.

Yeah, the top streamers, guild leaders etc - who already have direct feedback paths to Blizzard.

Game Development is not a democracy. The position is application based and selected by Blizz.

Internet voting is how you get Boaty McBoatface as the voted name for a serious ship. It was funny, certainly, but did not get the results they wanted.

It was either create the Community Council or continue to deal with the Community as a whole. Seeing as Activizzard prefers softball, it makes sense they chose to create a forum where they can control the narrative without much effort.

Banned warlock poster thinks the pirate bandana on the orc on the wc2 cover is actually a DURAG and is proof blizzard is racist and implied they designed the pirate orc after RAPPERS to mock them. This is the type of person warlock poster is. 100% he started this shtshow bc he’s mad he’s not on the CC (thank Christ) bc people that “woke” have some serious control issues.

Who cares what they want. Its supposed to be about the community.

Wasn’t those just called head kerchiefs or bandanas ? People need to get a history lesson jeez.

The same community where a bloc of people organize on discord to mass report people they disagree with? I’ll pass on that.

ROFLMAO it’s hilarious how you think that would actually cover the feedback and issues that need covered.:rofl::rofl:

Please use some logic. There’s absolutely zero way for us to know who is experienced enough in all aspects that Blizz wants and needs to hear about.

I’d like you to show me where anyone has take thousands upon thousands in a community and managed to narrow it down to a small handful who have the most amount of knowledge in their subject that they were picked for. I’ll wait.

This entire thread is ridiculous. You want a popularity contest what won’t do crap for the game.

Wrong. It’s supposed to be about feedback in specific areas.

Well, this is Blizzard’s game and Blizzard’s forum so Blizzard cares - and seeing as they are the ones making all the decisions, they are the ones who matter in this case. If they fail to make decisions that consumers want, then consumers won’t continue to support their products.

You don’t have to like that, but again, game development is not a democracy. I gather that you might wish it was, but reality is rather against you there.

Correct.

CC members represent themselves first - to share their feedback and ideas. Second many have guilds or communities they are part of such as a role play community. They are active and engaged there so are likely to have good feedback about the thoughts of those folks.

They are not supposed to serve the role of Community Manager to collect and relay broad feedback overall. Blizz has people already who get paid to do that.

Sales and money are the core tenets of Capitalism, not Democracy. Consumer reactions though certainly do influence what companies choose to make and market.

That does not make it a Democracy though.

I don’t understand. ._ . How can someone with 11 posts be an MVP on these forums?

Their “evidence”:

I said a single troll not being able to read isn’t racist. It isn’t. Yes, trolls are based on African Tribes, but it’s a SINGLE CHARACTER. It’s simply a character flaw. They’re implying that Blizzard cannot give negative traits to characters of WoW races based on PoC stereotypes. That’s ridiculous. Negative traits are how characters evolve. They most likely made it so Zekhan can’t read so he can learn in the future and grow as a character. Instead, they call it racist, with zero evidence it is. If he couldn’t read BECAUSE he was a troll, that would be racist. But no, he can’t read because he’s young and there’s been war nonstop since he was born, so he never learned.

On top of this, he was trying to read with Lor’themar, which means the text was likely in Thalassian. I doubt many trolls can read Thalassian.

They also decided to say that “Lor’themar helping Zekhan learn to read is just another case of a white savior.” (paraphrased)

Then there’s the fact I said if you identify a real life race with ONLY their stereotypes and believe those stereotypes are all that matter about a race, then you’re the racist one.

They’re saying I’m a racist for saying that.

I said the book has issues, but the things they point out are not the issues.

Yea. That’s their “Evidence” that they’re using. All of my posts are still in the thread, which I linked in the Story Forum at one point.

(to give you an idea, there’s like an 80% chance one of them will quote this post and say something like “LOLOL HE’S TRIPLING DOWN ON IT” on twitter.)

I agree with you here, u make a good point. Not everything in this game is a real life mirror nor does it have to be.
