Community Council is just a PR move

Current as after 3 days it was clear no matter how much i try its not gonna be beatable in this state . And there are like 20+ of my friends feel same way :frowning: . I just hope they do something with it .
But if blizz is gonna keep going this path of not listening not today or tomorrow or after they are digging a hole for themselves which will be too late when that happens .

The point I’m making though, is if they failed to listen to Beta Feedback about systems, etc, then why would they listen to a Community Council or anything else?

I mean Beta testers put a lot of time and energy into testing many things on their own time, then writing up posts that identify said issues(Conduit Energy for example was a specific biggy) that was just totally ignored.

Mistweavers Monks were last left with a half-hearted blue response that ignored all feedback and said something to the effect of “Stay tuned for more changes and updates next week Mistweavers!”

Well those Mistweavers never did get a follow up to let them know if their feedback was received, considered or simply never seen.

That feels bad. It feels bad for people to lay out constructive feedback, as specifically asked for, only to have it not even responded too.

How empty can that get?

Why will they listen to a Council, whom are just randomly elected players over players that intentionally tested the game and then took the time to format their feedback into understandable chunks in the Beta forums?

They won’t listen. They’re finna do what they want with the game regardless of feedback and the Community Council is just another attempt to placate players that are concerned over specific aspects of the game.

I ain’t mad or anything but after so many times of the same thing, you just have to call it like it is.

Walks like a duck, quaks like a duck, is a duck. :duck:

its just another attempt at the failed MVP program. “here are these special people who we will communicate with closely, taking and passing feedback to and from” which resulted in crickets after a few weeks. Heck its still going so you can see how well that is going in real time.

they choose streamers/youtubers because those people have audiences and can influence their watchers. either tell people to stop watching these people so blizz gives normal players a chance to guide the game or try working with them. choice is yours…

God reading the CC makes me really wonder what they were going for, there is a thread about basically every facet of the game so far on the same forum. If they really wanted to zero in on some issues maybe they should have had Blizzard make the thread (Like the 9.1.5 general thoughts one) and left it at that or have a voting system where the public could vote on ideas proposed.

Like why is there a suggestion for a 4th shaman spec like 3 people want when most of the other classes have had almost no changes in multiple expansions on their talents.

There is already topic that have been brought up by different people in multiple threads, It’s a total madhouse over there and It really does just feel like a lazy PR move.

I mean one of the threads literally starts with:
First and foremost i want to add that this post is subject to change due to additional input that is being gathered and is a post formed by my Guild with Mist of CC glancing over it after it was done. Also this is NOT a call to nerf certain classes/specs but about the design philosophy in general.

Do i need to get into a guild with someone from the CC and whisper in their ear what they should be posting on the CC to see myself heard? lol

i was thinking the same. open a thread to a specific topic. as in all MT goes here. all guild housing there

Out of the less than 40 people so far, 2 or 3 are streamers, and they are small ones without the huge audience.

The big streamers have had a voice for years.

So who are these big name streamers on the council because I haven’t seen any and none of the streamers would use alt names for the council especially the likes of Asmongold or Preach .

Or are you just assuming they are all streamers .

YOu know what assuming does

And I would rather you make one out of yourself and not me

It’s like they are the students caught red handed and tell the teacher [Ybarra] they’ll do better and face the rest of the class to apologize. Then snicker and run off to do the same thing.

They’ve done this forum, council, whatever they want to call it before [just had some diff devs back then I think].

‘‘Community Council’’. Snazzy word that sells their pitch well.

Just wait until their developer egos come into play when it clashes with a players feedback [like it is often]

I’ve been saying that in multiple threads on the topic and also said something similar in the CC discord based on the way the person set up the channels . THey had sections with different things like PvP ,Pve, Classic , Proffesions, Completionism , RP etcetera and each section had sub sections (the actual channels ) .

I said they should bring this idea of doing the threads this way with the devs so that us non CC members can easily look upo topics that matter to us individually and not have to go through multiple threads on the same exact topic.

What’s more troubling is the fact that it’s been established this was a thing yet basically every bit of feedback provided was promptly ignored for years, which is why i think so many are sceptical this CC will do anything at all.

That was the one post that Blizzard seemed to take feedback on to change the game. After they pointed out a few ways they cheesed the tower they nerfed a few old items/enchants in TW. So yay Mage Tower buffs just like a handful of trolls in GD have asked for.

I am in the camp that MT being something you have to farm a few 100 times or cheese is a critical error. The tower is/was the highlight of this patch for causal/returning players–why I assumed it intersected with the holidays so well. So a new player comes back to do this thing they heard was so awesome from Legion and they get frustrated, do you think I am going to be able to show them the cool Drustvar zone after that or do you think I am going to get 2 hour ads about how cool Endwalker is in my discord when we hang out?

What I am hoping for, is that this gets them to publicly discuss their thoughts on the various ideas. Even if that means telling us finally why they don’t think X fits the game direction, or telling us that something like Y would be next expansion, or the one after that. They are already well into the next expansion I am sure, esp from the story and game system design side.

I can handle being told “no” or “later maybe”, and most players can. What people hate is just feeling totally ignored.

Bro i quoted doable means its really really hard . Everything you just said is what i am trying to say too

So you’ve take away is the most basic take in the history of takes?

How is it even elaborate? Reduce the amount of people giving feedback. Pretend to listen to it. Done.

That said, they said no to both Account bound essences (before backflipping) and pulling the ripcord (before backflipping). What I’m hoping is at the bare minimum CC can shorten the No >>>>>>>> backflipping process from 1 year to 1 or 2 months.

Blizzard can straight up not afford another bad expansion, regardless how this one ends I think many players have written it off.

Instead of loling you could have grabbed either my btag from wowprogress or my discord tag which I had posted in another thread.

Also dont rip things out of context. I have already stated in other threads that I’m mainly reading the EU and US general forums to see what people think/want/etc.

This post was brought to my attention because I knew it was there but my personal knowledge regarding healers in the very least is severely limited.

It is quite literally the first and only thread of mine that was influenced by my guild or rather written out by my guild with mists of club camel glancing over it since again he also has a very in depth point of view regarding healing on mythic (even if this post also allows more leeway for lower difficulties in terms of what people can do without feeling punished for it) and he wanted to look at it before me posting it.

So again instead of loling just post what you want on either my btag, discord tag or just plainly the general forum and the odds for me to see it are quite high.

And again its natural that some things we post will come from the corner we “originate from” given all our different backgrounds in the game.

I’m not assuming anything. I just stated the paradox of not being able to please anyone no matter who is chosen, steamer, non-streamer, no name, big name, etc.

Not sure what your on about mate.

Sounds like you’re arguing with yourself here.

What seems basic or obvious to me, may not be apparent for many others, at least if the numerous posts either bashing WoW or praising other games are indictive of.

Many player appear to be trapped by WoW or unable to let it go and do something worthwhile with their time, so yeah, it bears repeating.

Haha, ofc it’s a PR move of “WE’RE LISTENING!” But reality they never have until a giant backlash that results in a mass boycott of our beloved franchises.

They’re trying to show that things are going to change, but they won’t they’ll still crank out system after system while retiring old ones, changing the names saying its different when they’re really not.

That is why I’m sticking to FF14 and I had enough gold to check out SoM so here I am back for a month and if things aren’t really changing especially their workplace I’m outtie again.
