Community council has failed?

I don’t see any idea that’s special to the usual general discussion talk.

So what’s the purpose of this first class forum?

This was as expected. There was a huge post that discussed this 2 years ago. We knew it back than and We know it now.

To make people jealous apparently.

It’s free work. The CC gets to summarize the forums, so the devs don’t have to read it.

That’s the least I thought about. But how do you feel jealous about the cc members?

Orange and green text doesn’t matter to me. Everyone in the forums are equal.

Community council existed on the olden forums, they were just hidden from everyone.

As for the true intention? No idea. Forums are good to just have for any game to help try to control the rumormill and give customers a place to scream into the infinite void :slightly_smiling_face:.

Also to collect feedback.

afaik it was originally set up to show that blizz does listen to its playerbase and is open to suggestions.
all that has happened is blizz doesnt listen to its playerbase or the community council

It’s a real chicken and egg scenario.

Did the CC become yellow GD because Blizzard didn’t care about it, or did Blizzard not care about it because it was a yellow GD?

MVP programs are always going to fail when there’s no correlation between being an actual valuable poster and having different coloured text or a special forum.

They have a different colour, I covet the difference from our masses of GD goers.

Imo it was a corporate stunt to save face while people were ditching for FFXIV.

As a wise fox said almost two years ago when it was first announced:

Dev interaction went up when the CC came out, so I think they demonstrated some value. I don’t know if that’s still true, but it was for a long time.

I don’t follow the CC’s posts, so I don’t know how much value they have, sorry.

The what now?

Were the MVP’s actually ever expected to do anything on the forums, or was their border simply a reward for other things they did with 3rd party websites or whatnot?

MVP’s of forums with actual purpose like tech support were pretty good. It was largely the MVP’s without specific mandates that sucked. GD notably.

Lol so true, and it is probably a good thing they don’t listen to the council any more than their general player base. Sorry for anyone on the council but it’s a joke.

no no friend. it was a huge succsess… for blizzard PR.
see now, it was never meant to have a open channel to speak with blizz bots or a way to get change done. it was infact a way to smother the smoldering flames of rage the community had after the Sexual assualt allegations, women fruit, taiwan, diablo immortal, and overwatch social justice racism pie chart.
it worked splendidly as everyone thought this was a new blizzard with new goals and new ways to communicate.

Heh.

‘everyone’

youre right youre right.
the choirs that sung praises at blizzard for doing this was numerous but not… everyone

Not even the majority. I would say there was a very large percentage of the playerbase in the original threads that said this would be a smokescreen and they wouldn’t listen to anyone anymore than before.
