For what it’s worth, I think the store mount and the boosts were absolutely abhorrent, awful ideas that never should have made it into the game.

I understand.
There’s a few of us that still play Era and are worried that our version of the game and our concerns will be swept aside when so many moved on to different content.
I know that Blizzard is still naming others to the Community Council but not yet seeing an Era player named is a bit disheartening. I try to view many of the issues for TBCC or SoM through the lens of how will the fallout change Era. The update to 1.14 caused all sorts of breakdowns and bugs in game that with Blizzard’s personnel struggles and the attention other versions of the game need as well, it felt like Era was forgotten. I get we are a small population and play essentially a museum piece but we still want to play. If our bugs can get fixed we shouldn’t really require much more attention.
The tokens, while possibly impactful in a positive way for TBCC and onward where botting and RMT is a major issue, are not needed for Era because it is on nowhere near the same scale of operation.
I really appreciate your listening, Basil, and starting this thread to begin the much needed dialog. Thank you.

Tone is really hard to get across in text. I’m really sorry if that sounded or came off as dismissive. It was never intended. Even with a tiny population- a splinter of a splinter of the total WoW players- you still deserve to play a game that isn’t fundamentally broken. We all do. I hear you and I advocate for you. I plan on bringing up the 1.14 domino effect of breaks and bugfixes in a post. And I agree- the token is debatably a good idea depending on a lot of variables for TBCC, it has no place in Classic Era.
Please let me know if there’s anything else in particular I can help bring up or cover for you, since while I was very much active in Classic, I’m not on Classic Era. I do have a copy of my 60 priest over there if you ever need me ingame to show me something, though.

I just wanted to illuminate my worries that I know are shared by others I game with.
It’s awesome we have someone that wants to talk with us about the things that mean a lot to us and be our champion.
Asma has stated it perfectly as I could not.
I’m not sure if she is on the same page as I am, but myself and many others have stated we would love a fresh Classic Era server in the future.
Please resurrect PVP on Classic Era servers. Right now, PVP is almost dead in Classic Era. Why hasn’t Blizzard fixed the PVP problem on Classic? Why not?
It’s not for me but I am not opposed to it.
If that keeps the game going and people are having fun that’s really all that matters to me.
Merging all existing Classic Era realms into one and then adding a server for fresh IMO is ideal for all parties

This I’m not so sure about unless you meant one pvp and one pve then one fresh. That I could support. But one mega server that is solely pvp or solely pve - that’s a no from me.
Oh absolutely. 2 Classic era servers, no layering, and a fresh server would satisfy even the pickiest of players.

Advocating for Classic Era: Chronoboon Displacer is a fantastic gold sink and a great middle ground for the World Buff conflict.

I absolutely agree. While WBs in Classic led to a lot of WPvP and player interaction, it wasn’t necessarily a good time. Chronos should be in any iteration of Classic Era, full stop.

Barber shop. My toon disgusts me and is such a downer to play/ look at.
For some reason shadows cause issues with the top of my toons head I think it may be an issue with the updating of graphics.
my biggest concern is Blizzard not doing enough on battling bots, RMT and general moderation. We need in game GMs. I think blizz would be surprised how many would consider coming back if blizz did these things which we already pay for
A long term fresh classic server would be ideal just one pvp and one pve and maybe another that allows transfers off the dead classic realms for free. And make these servers a one year ban if caught real money trading.

The Sub fee was $15 when I started playing in 2005, and $15 now.

Doesn’t affect anything from 60-70, it was purely QoL for people levelling blood elves and draenei.
These are okay in my opinion. Classes should be balanced to the final patch, as it is on any version of classic or pserver.
It sounds like you just want to add LFD to convenience yourself.

Why are you calling for a crackdown on activities that don’t violate the EULA?
GDKP and boosts may be funded by RMT, but they do not, in and of themselves, violate the EULA.
Go after RMT that is facilitated by botting and let people play the game.
For perspective, I have never participated in GDKP or boosting, and I’m glad attempts to nerf boosting have been made in SoM.
