Coming Later This Year: Shadowlands Season 4

Mechagon and tasavesh are both unpopular (rightfully so). Have players vote on dungeons from each of the b4 expacts

No.

You will also be farming the Bit Band combo. Have fun.

And if you’re a Fire Mage, you will also be farming for Soul Igniter, and Hyperthread Wristwraps, and the Bit Band combo.

My friends who routinely clear +15s wouldn’t do a +2 Tazavesh key I got cause they didn’t think they could time it.

It’s far from fine, lol. Though this was before a lot of the nerfs, still.

That’s a far more fair assessment. Kudos to you sir and/or maam.

I like the idea of expanding M+ to other dungeons, but I would have preferred this to be in the context of Timewalking. I like how Legion Timewalking did Mythic+. It seems weird to just have random dungeons in a season.

These are the Blizzard forums, so the majority of comments are going to be complaints, specifically about how they’re recycling content and whatnot.

The reality is, many players (including myself) have been wanting them to do this for a long time, especially since FFXIV has found a way to make their old content relevant.

I like Tazavesh, and farmed it a lot, but the current implementation of Streets is pretty awful. Gambit is fine now after the changes.

Let’s not even pretend that all of the internal strife that was going on at Blizz didn’t affect this expansion’s development.

WoD was AWFUL. It had the potential to be amazing, and they dropped the ball. Hard. That was a crazy-long content draught. But what came after? Legion, once of the best expansions to date. Blizz realized when they needed to drop what wasn’t working, and put all their effort into doing better the next expac. That is EXACTLY what has happened with Shadowlands, but this time, they actually gave us stuff to do at the end, instead of…nothing, like WoD.

I really wish people would stop being so negative.

Turn essences, azerite and corruptions back on for laughs.

As long as fire mages can get the Mechagon wristswraps again (and for the love of god hopefully they stack with the fire mage 4 set) I’m gonna be one happy camper during season 4 hahaha.

But as happy as I am about wristwraps, I’m defintely upset that they removing the SL dungeons from the season 4 rotation. That feels really bad tbh. I know SL dungeons + 8 legacy dungeons is a lot of dungeons, but they had almost 15 in legion right? And every dungeon there was a dungeon that had to be learned fresh. With season 4 its 10 dungeons we already know plus a handful of dungeons we are somewhat familiar with. If season 4 is all about tiding people over until they can finish developing 10.0, then it seems we should have access to as many dungeons as possible!

Idk, we finished an 8 streets and 10 gambit last week and they went okay. Gambit is WAY easier than streets because of the streets trash and so many bosses, but they were both doable.

You should have them try now that they’ve been nerfed.

Taza is moderately overtuned compared to some, but as far as difficulty goes, Gambit is nearly perfect, Streets is still still meh. That is my personal opinion.

If it’s between this or a content drought until 10.0 then I’m okay with this, but if this is delaying 10.0 even a little bit I would rather have a content drought.

I agree. Streets has too much trash and too many bosses, but it’s not far and away harder than anything else.

Love this, so excited to have a wider variety of dungeons for M+.
Don’t raid much personally, outside of LFR, but adding a way to keep older raids from the xpac relevant later on is really neat as well, and I’m glad to see it being added to the game!
Just hope this persists into the future!

Are these raids gonna be scaled to standard N/H/M with equal ilvls, or will it be done in a different way?

At the moment, they can’t. SL is largely panned as being as bad as WoD was. This is an obvious attempt to regurgitate existing content (or, let’s read it as slightly better spun: Keeping the expansion on life support) while they work on the next expansion.

I have several concerns about this and it starts with:

  1. The existing content has significant and crippling bugs for several specs right now.
  2. Rehashing an already panned expansion does not inspire confidence.
  3. Making raid scheduling even more difficult with 3 raids, rather than 1, for game content makes raid leading challenges that need not be there.
  4. They’re taking the least liked content and positioning it as a “great” thing that they’re going to make that even more annoying. It’s not.
  5. They have wacky ways of saying they want player feedback but frequently ignore it in favor of just one lunatic’s response being “hearing the community feedback”.

I’m not a fan because they have a track record of completely missing what the playerbase has asked for repeatedly in favor of what they “feel” we want instead.

Reading between the lines like many have already in this thread, this really seems like just a way to soften the blow of an extremely late 10.0 launch. While I appreciate the effort, I’m very concerned.

This new season doesn’t mean new content from what I’m reading. Just rehashed old content. And on the raid front, the last thing any of the 3 shadowlands raids need is more mechanics. My Horde guild has already been dead for 2 years. My Ally guild has bled members all expansion. If we’re being consigned to what is essentially a 12-14 month 9.2+, I’m worried I’m even going to have a guild left to play with on 10.0 launch day.
