You want to improve sales or get old players to come back than make anything you list as legacy solo farmable. it isn’t as if people are forming raids to go do useless content for mounts that most people already have! Seriously who was the genius that thought making players feel less powerful in old content was a block buster idea?
Are we talking to miniscule differences or something significant?
Also keep in mind are we talking you know heroic dungeon gear or leveling 61
I am talking about things such as mechanics in old raids that will kill you because you are solo and need more people to prevent the mechanic from killing you.
Personally I feel that as soon as an instance is flagged as “legacy” all the things in the instance should be one hit kills for a butt naked max level
Grandfathering older players and gatekeeping is kinda what Blizzard just does.
Earn things early, or you will be punished later on due to tuning changes etc.
They almost never go back and make legacy content easier to solo. Some stuff in older raids is straight up impossible to do solo on some classes, or at least very difficult.
I feel like my stance on this is proven with Overwatch 2. Almost everyone who played the hell out of OW1 (like myself) and has earned a lot of skins got to keep all of that, which is nice, but they got rid of loot boxes. New skins are basically impossible to earn now unless you shell out money, or play it like a job. You can play for an entire week and get enough coins for a low-level recolour skin at this point- the epic skins are far out of reach now, further than ever before. At least with loot boxes you had a slim chance to get one for free, just for participation.
It makes me feel awful for new players, who will likely never get to earn the older cool stuff.
I can understand the why of it, but I don’t like it. FOMO is predatory.
Than they can continue to watch this game dwindle away till nothing is left of the player base.
- In Q2 2017, World of Warcraft reached 46 million monthly active users thanks to the Legion expansion.
- By 2021, the MAU count had dropped to 26 million.
- As of 2022, around 4.8 million people subscribe to World of Warcraft.
if they don’t start listening to players than they won’t have any players at all.
Every dungeon and raid in a current expansion should become immediately face rollable on the launch day of the second expansion after.
No having to gear up, no having to deal with wonky mechanics, no having to wait until midway through or towards the end of an expansion to finally be strong enough to maybe solo ‘most’ of the old content from a couple expansions ago… etc., and so forth.
On the first day of DF, everything from BFA should be full on 100% face rollable, as in dead within a few hits, max. That’s every dungeon, every raid, every level of difficulty. Period.
Everything except the most recent expansion is easily farmed, though.
here here agreed 1000%
I enjoyed your post before you deleted it :*(
haha ty…
Well dang, I now will never know.
I was just being derpy but figured on second thought I might get in trouble for being off topic…
Bummer, but I cannot blame ya lad. For some be of a ‘sensitive’ nature round these parts at times.
I see your point.
If you get a small group where everyone has different armor type you can double or triple your personal loot with trades. There’s a dragon in icecrown that needs to be healed, so you need a bandage. Its pretty rare to find that they aren’t soloble. I needed to get a gorup for one of the siege of orgrimar bosses, and had a hard time with a few others. I did some legion recently and only had a problem with one boss.
In total there are a ton to solo. I didn’t try BFA yet. I don’t mind begging for help once in a while, and generally expect the most recent expansion to be somewhat difficult to solo, at least on mythic.
The people in charge don’t care they made their money and are ready to bounce at any time. Look at bobby k he got a half billion dollar handshake . No one cares about subs no one at blizz cares period. They just rofl stomp out xpacs and until something bigger and Better puts the nail in coffin that’s just how it’s gonna be
Why did you go from one metric to another?
More interestingly why did you go from one metric that is official and one that no one outside of Blizzard can prove?
If you’re quoting this
In Q2 2017, World of Warcraft reached 46 million monthly active users thanks to the Legion expansion.
By 2021, the MAU count had dropped to 26 million.
As of 2022, around 4.8 million people subscribe to World of Warcraft.
There are at least 34,000 WoW active players at any given moment.
People in the US account for 23% of the game’s user base.
The average World of Warcraft player is a 28-year-old man.
Activision/Blizzard made around $9 billion in net revenue in 2021.
which it looks like you are I’d suggestion caution when quoting someone who uses questionable sources
- Six million people play WoW live on an average monthly basis.

I wish they’d do what FFXIV does with adding AI to run with you.
I think it’d be totally cool if you had Chromie and other bronze dragon NPCs tagging along with you as you do old raids.
It would be lovely if Blizzard changed that. I tried to solo Mythic Eonar…found out the hard way that wasn’t happening .
One of my favorite things is to go back and take my time looking around in those raids and farming xmog/mounts. That is my new end game, lol. It’s relaxing for sure…unless you’re farming Legion and up that is…or Viscidus without any frost abilities (please change this, Blizzard ).
I think anyone with common sense can figure out that WoW alone has never had 46 million MAUs…or even 26 million for that matter. Those numbers are for all Blizzard games combined.
