Been having an issue for the past week. major lag spikes that go in the 3000’s and the game stops at times for 30 seconds to minutes… posting an MTR to see where the issue could lie. i just want to enjoy the game again
This is mine… Also getting 3k MS but only in mythic plus. I can do torg fine cross faction. and heroic/normal dungeons fine. As soon as I get 5 people in the group to do a key I get insane lag.

WinMTR v0.92 GPL V2 by Appnor MSP - Fully Managed Hosting & Cloud Provider
Howdy Súspect,
I didn’t notice any serious problems affecting the connection in that test you provided. Based on what you described, it could be addons causing a strange latency issue. I’d recommend testing the game with addons disabled temporarily to compare the difference.
Howdy Swiftecho,
It’s possible that your issue is also related to addons since I don’t see any latency spiking to 3k in the test. However there is some packet loss happening starting on the Telstra which could be contributing to the connection problems. You could try disabling addons temporarily as well but I’d also recommend testing a free VPN or another network like a mobile hotspot to see if there’s any change.
I disabled all add ons and ran a halls of attonement. No issues. Enabled dbm, skada, and titan panel. Had 70 latency at one point and stayed there but wasn’t really noticeable. I haven’t tried ElvUi yet but will tonight. That and Weak auras is the only thing left i didn’t enable. Is it possible ElvUi is causing my world latency to be that bad to where the game jumps up to 3000 ping and the game stops? Just didn’t think it would be possible? Just find it very strange ive had these for a while with no issue until now
Thanks for reaching out. That particular test i had over 3500ms (world) with no addons enabled. I can’t see it reflected in the test though, which is weird right? Im not sure if i used the right IP for testing but the oceanic IP didn’t work at all. That test i posted was also conducted after i had hard reset my router, changed my cables, updated/reinstalled driverd, flushed dns, and cleared caches everywhere. I only started experiencing this in mythic plus for the last two days only.
Also my boyfriend didnt have the problem at all
i havent changed or added anything on my computer and found no hardware issues when running troubleshooting tests on my PC. Also, i am not having connections issues with anything except mythic plus in WoW.
That sounds like an overlay from a different program such as discord possibly causing the issue then.
Why would it affect only sometimes when you go into some instances.
If that were true it wouldn’t just be random, only when I join mythic plus, and only in the last 2 days. I have discord open all day on my computer. And I rebooted my machine so if there was a program stuck it would have reset but the lag issue persisted. It is definitely an ingame issue and it’s annoying that all I get is excuses instead of actual assistance.
I’m getting the same thing, Home Lat is fine & stable at 19 but whenever I join an Arena world Lat craps out and the lag makes the game unplayable, done the full reboot, ensured all drivers & updates are completed, refreshed all addons, run without addons, tested with no other devices connected to my network, rebooted router. Definitely, a Blizzard-related issue because normal questing on my home server is completely fine, issue only kicked off for me 12 - 14 hours ago, I look forward to the generic & useless response from Blizzard offering basic troubleshooting on my end to an issue that is clearly on theirs
Ive disabled all my addons and my world ms goes up to 11k in bgs.
Bumping post. I’m not having this issue happen whenever I go into an instance such as arena or bg. My friend had this happen recently too. It’s only world ms. Doesn’t seem like an internet issue
I’m having this issue too. Unplayable lag, like 3k ms+. Just started today. It’s only when playing WoW; the rest of my internet is fine.
I’m on FIOS on the East Coast.
I was doing arenas, and a couple of the games were fine, but the majority of them were unplayable, so the problem seems to be with how FIOS is connecting to a certain datacenter, or multiple datacenters, but not all of them.
I reset my internet, did the /flushdns stuff, all that, and nothing helped.
I’m also fios and east coast. I don’t think it’s an ISP thing though because everything else is working fine. Wonder if it’s on blizzards end
Same here. I posted this in a similar thread - https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/wow/en/wow/t/lagging-in-every-battleground/1274466/5
Looks like my post got yanked. In short, there’s major lag issues which look to be starting in Chicago. Could be a Level3 thing since it seems to be affecting FiOS subscribers.
Verizon FIOS on the e coast takes a nose dive every so often.
Further WinMTR tests are showing dropped data as Telstra hands off the connection to Level3.
ive tried all the recommended things, i had a tech show up today and showed them the MTR test. Nothing is wrong on my end… lol. i so hope they figure this out soon. i cant run any meaningful content with these lag spikes
+1
Any instanced content not on an OCE server results in increasing lag, the longer you are in the instance.
I’ve seen the Jailer die in raid finder at half HP (see everyone in chat get their loot) and I have to wait until the health bar goes to 0 for another few minutes (ping is climbing 8000+ ms).
This issue needs to be seriously looked into. This is with and without addons enabled.
Hi Zenlaka,
Is there any further information on this issue? there is a growing number of forum posts regarding this issue and we all have had no real help
