The forums are a terrible indicator of anything because A. forum communities are almost always more toxic than the game itself and B. I can make a new account and be trolling with in a matter of minutes.
In order to do any real damage to communities in Classic, people would need to level characters to max level.
Are you really going to suggest that a notable amount of people will sink hundreds of hours of their life into a game they hate just to troll people and damage the community? Additionally for the people who ARE that obsessed, do you really think $5 more per month is going to deter them?
And do you really think that the community is not capable of weeding those people out by itself? Yet they apparently will be capable of weeding out jerks, ninja looters, etc.?
