Release in June 2019, combined sub only with bfa, combined icon on battle net app, you need to toggle down from bfa to classic to launch game
What are you on about?
I 100% think Blizzard should link classic and retail subs. It makes the most economical sense. People who sub to classic may try retail because they can since they’re subbed. People to only want retail may try classic because they can since they’re subbed.
Also we WILL see record high subs if they link. 100% sure no questions asked

Nah. Do a promo for BfA players to let them check out classic for free - maybe even like the current play for free system up until a certain level, with restrictions - but keep the subs separate.

Do you guys not understand that you don't need BFA to play WoW? You can go make a new account and pay $15 and play the game right now, no BFA included?
But if they do offer a Live version gets the game and then a $10 subscription for Classic server access only I'm going to laugh so hard. Because then you guys will still need to deal with "retail" players.
Combined sub is the way to go. Classic players can freely try out retail and retail players can freely try out classic.
When you say you want separate subs, you're really saying "I want less population and realms to die faster."

Yea. All these softies like “I don’t want the server to be poisoned by trolls”
Like $5 a month will keep them away. If you can’t handle trolls get off the internet
Nah. Need a seperate sub. It’ll lower the amount and duration of tourism.
People saying “Oh, but you could then try retail free.” You guys do realize that the majority of the Classic community have no desire to play sh***y retail right?

Classic community? You mean the 800,000 accounts who played on Nost? Of those 150,000 were active in the last few months? Why are we catering to 150,000 people when the game has hosted populations of over 12,000,000.
You guys yell the loudest, but that doesn't make you the biggest community. Get off your high horses. Others will try out Classic and will certainly give BFA a try.

See, your first paragraph is the one I just don't understand.
Wouldn't you want as many tourists as possible so you can share your love of classic with them? Show them how amazing the game and its community is. It should be your goal to win their hearts and convince them not to go back to retail.
Everyone talks how great the vanilla community is....then show it.

The problem at hand is that you presume Classic players have a problem with tourists. To be fair I guess some might. I really could care less who decides to try it out. Retail players, veterans, and complete newbies are all welcome as far as I'm concerned. Players as long as you like, quote When you get bored. It is what it is.
BUT tying it to BFA is a mistake. The reason this character is 110 and account unsubbed since around The first quarter of Legion is refusal to buy and support a product I don't want and have zero interest in. Make it so I 'have to' buy/support hot garbage I don't want to get to the product I DO want? Nah. I'll just re-up my subscription to Final Fantasy XIV and give money to a company that doesn't do shady !@#$ to fluff subscription numbers and support it's broke-%^- expansion.

Even retail players seem to not want to play retail.

Sure there's going to be people who only want to play classic and only want to play retail. There's also going to be people who want to play both and if just having both options available keeps people subbed longer that's a win for blizzard.
Now the other thing is without knowing what pricing they might be looking at for classic, also note that a lot of people who want a separate sub for classic want a lower price point for it. But assuming the price would be the same having a shared sub doesn't matter at all to people who would only play one or the other while adding value to people who would play both.
And BTW before you complain about subsidizing something you won't play what do you think has been funding classic this entire time?

I get what you're saying. But if you're willing to pay a separate sub of 15 dollars, why would you be so against paying a combined sub of the same amount?

110.
I love how you assume I played Nost. Oh, that person doesn’t agree with me, they must be a Nost player.
That’s hilarious. I have never played on Nost, or any other private server, except 10 levels on each race on LH recently as a refresh of the starting zones. The last time I really played Vanilla was during Vanilla....
Why is it that people think the Classic community means Nost. I have no idea if that server was even accurate, because I NEVER played on it. So maybe it’s you that needs to get off your high horse.

Im saying nost is always referenced as the largest private server community, yet they actually dwarf many other communities. The private server community has become the Classic community at this point.
When people look at the Classic community they think private server players.

Yes...if it wasnt for the great success of BFA there would be no Vanilla Wow or player base.

That’s why game companies in their infinite wisdom created Trials.
I don’t think current subscribers should get Classic free. I don’t think people who are only interested in Classic should be paying a penny toward BFA. And before anyone pulls a “Yeah, you’re not subbed” I just recently unsubbed because I refused to purchase anymore garbage from Blizzard. That last decent thing I bought was TBC and before that Vanilla. Everything since has been a waste of money based on the stupid fantasy that Blizz came to their senses. Each time, one big fat disappointment after another.
I would love to share my love of Classic. I’d love more players to embrace it. Truth be told though, current subs are not a gain. They are already subbed. New or returning subs are the only profit margin. It’s funny how people think success is measured by NOT making more money. The subs need to be seperate, and counted separately to truly measure success of each game.
Why are people so hard up over 15-30 bucks? My 4 year old can afford that.... seriously, she gets to spend all the dependent pay I get for her from the VA....
