Don’t you think it’d be cool enough if they could just be a bunch of the other classes that DO make sense? Like Dracthyr mage would make sense because mages use the arcane magic (blue flight) and time magic (bronze flight) just as an example. Warriors work for any race with a pair of functioning arms, rogues wouldn’t be out of place considering we see several black dragons presenting as human rogues throughout the game, hunters would work too considering both the red and green flights’ connection to nature. The list goes on and on…
Oh honey, I’m a person that doesn’t enjoy restrictions so we probably won’t see eye to eye on this discussion. I’m for any class that will give my boys a tank spec tho, but I would widely prefer no restrictions.
I think Warrior and Hunter should always be the two classes that no matter the race, they should be available.
Maybe priest too so no matter what every new race will have a dps, tank and heal option.

On the topic of a tank spec, I wanna see a tank spec for the evoker so that, if blizz do decide to stick to their guns on the ‘‘dracthyr can only be evokers and are the only evokers’’ thing then at least they’ll have access to all 3 roles. Besides, it fits perfectly in the lore and, from the sounds of it, the black flight is yet to play a significant role in the current 2 specs.

True. There’s speculation that the chronomancy is going to be with the healing spec…but man I think it would be cool for a tank flavored spec. Black dragon would make the most sense since, well Earth and all that.
It’s more than speculation. Blizzard outright said that the blue (arcane) & red (life) flights will make up the DPS spec & the green (emerald dream) & bronze (time) flights will make up the healing spec. However, that leaves our black flight with no possible role in the class other than being the baseline abilities for both specs which would be, quite frankly, dissapointing.
Especially when you think of the fact that it would essentially fill that ‘‘shaman tank’’ fantasy a lot have people have wanted since vanilla.

Okay, but if you look there are quite a few people who are excited for them as they are, too. You can see people making artwork for em, picking names, and thrilled that they made a nice, interesting, lean reptilian race. Having them changed entirely sucks for all those people who got really excited for the race as it was shown. I will fight for people to have options, but I will vehemently fight against them straight up replacing the model. Choices are good. Replacing is bad.
As for the female vs masculine form… If they wanted to have the current form for those that love it, a bulkier form for those that want that, and something like the female Iksar from EQ2, I would be okay with that too. So long as all three forms remained available no matter which gender you chose, since I personally would love to use the basic slim model for my male Dracthyr. As I’v stated elsewhere though, I still think that all races should get choices in body types as well.
My problem wasn’t with the people who wanted the Dracthyr to have a difference like the Iksar from EQ2, my problem was with the people who wanted to turn the females into something like Argonians from ESO. I just would prefer if my reptilian people didn’t just look like big chested humans covered in scales.

Seriously, let me wear more armor slots like chestpieces. Also, the tier sets for evokers should be custom made so they show EVERY piece in dragon form.

So far, both previous Heroic Classes have only had two specs; Tank & DPS. The only difference is that DK’s have two melee dps and wear plate but DH only have one DPS and wear leather. Neither can heal. The Dracthyr are a ranged dps and can heal, but cannot tank and wear mail (yay, another mail wearer that everybody has begged for). Kind of makes things balance out for the Heroic classes. Making it so that the lizards can tank just would not be fair

You are asking far too much effort from what has to be one of the laziest companies out there.
You’re conflating specs with roles. Unholy & frost play very differently, even back in WotLK
Conveniently ignoring monks, paladins and druids as if hybrids can’t exist. If we’re going off class roles to determine what new classes should have then a hybrid is over due since they’re vastly underrepresented. But again, you’re acting like it has to be either or. WHY CAN’T IT BE BOTH. Again, STOP it with this tribal andy nonsense, it’s so frustrating. I’m not anti healer or ranged dps! And again, from a lore perspective, if Neltharian really made the Dracthyr as these perfect elite ‘units’ so to speak then surely they’d be capable of both melee & ranged combat and could fill a versatile range of rolls. Also, each spec seems to focus on different flights but there is no black flight spec. Boom, perfect opportunity for a tank spec.

I’m not actually opposed to giving them a Tank spec, though I do wonder if it’s something that might be planned for later anyway. During the reveal they made a specific point of mentioning that it was important to show they use all 5 Dragonflights, but then only mentioned 4 of them actually being in the specs. Perhaps a tanky Black Dragonflight spec will be given to them later in the expansion as they expand lore? I dunno.
At the very least I would love if they could give them more classes later on. That negates the issue as the people who want to play a Dracthyr and tank can just choose one of the tanky classes.
Please do not listen to the absolutely miserable people on this thread telling you to just “get over it” “choose a different race” and all of that. There is a small but vocal group of players going around to each and every thread about these complaints and just telling people to get over it. their profiles are littered with negativity posts and they average about 5-10 posts a day. they are miserable people with nothing better to do than telling other people they need to be as miserable as them and accept it. I agree with every single option on this list because its better for players to have MORE choices. WoW is dying, and Blizzard knows this. If they have truly changed, and are actually listening to the community- they better make some of these changes. We wont accept another “you think you do but you dont” on these topics. We want them, or we wont play.

no. the players who like them as they are DO matter- what are you not getting or understanding? if you want to play them as a dragon you SHOULD be able to play them as a dragon. the players who like them as is already got what they want… no one is FORCING them to do otherwise… we’re looking to EXPAND on what is currently confirmed, not change it. people liking something different from you doesnt invalidate your opinion to like it. if you like the dragon form and someone doesnt, that doesnt mean your opinion counts as less. it counts the same. stop playing some sort of victim card that doesnt even exist

this isn’t an ‘‘us vs them’’ issue. We aren’t going to get Drakonids with wings or actual Dragons instead of the Dracthyr so a complete replacement is off the table. All people are simply asking for now is more options to not look like that
There isn’t a precedent of blizz adding suprise specs out of no where. As for the black flight not being mentioned for the specs, I think this was to imply that the black flight spells will just be the spec neutral abilities (class baseline toolkit).
I hope I’m wrong though

Your idea of different scale colors for different specs is really cool, actually! I do have different mogs for different specs on some chars, and the least they can do is give us this option instead if we’ll barely show anything at all.
Another thing that I hadn’t thought of until right now is that they should have the option to have different mog settings between Dracthyr and visage. After all, some people may opt to be naked as a dragon and still want a tabard as an elf or vice versa. Extend this feature to Worgen, too.
