Collecting and Dress up

I care about how my character looks.

Given how often she and I argue on here, that would be a study in self-dialogue :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

LOL no. Bris is not me. I never wanted to be on Rhielle in the first place. But I got stuck on her when the forum went live and I wasn’t farming forum rep again. I found out later I didn’t have to, so I swapped back to Thallia, who I posted on from Cata until the new forums.

I never claimed they are the same but equally terrible? Yes

Huh i hate chicago style  what’s heavenly is garlic butter popcorn :innocent:

Mogs have value that last all the time. Cosmetics too. The power and gear grinds are just busy work. You always replace it, it always gets reset. No need to emotional invest in how much gear a player has…because we are always replacing it.

Sure it’s nice to have gear and feel powerful, but we are always changing that. The only rewards that last are cosmetic rewards. Why focus so much energy on what we used to like gear? Unless it is needed to complete content for the cosmetics you want.

OP forgot - in their smug superiority - that raiders back in the old days would stand around in Ironforge/Orgrimmar just to show off their tier sets. It’s always been about fashion lol

Oh yeah, the elwynn duel corner in tbc on my server was all sunwell raiders with their shinies and people showing off their epics

As the saying goes in the Destiny 2 community; drip is forever.

Yea, transmog changed this game so we could use our old sets again and it really makes this game and the ability to make your character unique enough or just stick to looking how you want it to is pretty good. Especially for an mmo with so many players, the ability to customize our characters is really nice and something I always advocate for better customization. Right now for me that’s removal of transmog restrictions for some weapons and armor for me! And class skins which may happen.

The gameplay still feels good once you unlock everything. The dungeons have a scaling difficulty meaning you can go as far as you want.

Pvp is a mess, and more skewed toward fotm then fair gameplay.

Mogs is very undisruptive to actual gameplay, and the art team does a great job making some of the sets work with the old engine.

What if, OP, you are in fact wrong and Warcraft has always been about collecting achieves and reputations, and you simply never got the memo? Could your whole world view about there being honor in raiding and pvp is the honest way to play not come crashing to the ground?

I can wait while you rethink your entire world view. You certainly have time; nothing ever gets resolved in these forums.

Kind of like “why do people play if they aren’t having fun?” Answer, they don’t. They quit and move on when they aren’t amused any longer.

One nice thing you can say about Shadowlands is that they really advanced the game on “cosmetic” sets. All the 9.1 Covenant sets that can be used with any armor type really opened up a lot of mog possibilities.

I can’t help but think of this video whenever I hear the word drip I think of willam dafoe

Yea really. Like the kyrian sets. Let my warrior and sv hunter look quite angelic. Love that, they feel like Kyrians, just wish we could fly with the wings mount if we transmog our cloaks to a wings look.

Read quite a bit of this thread, summary: Rhumoz doesn’t like mogs. Calls it dress up to be condescending. Says the solution is we need ‘something big’ that ain’t mogs.

I dunno, the dude just hates mogs (dress up) and has no suggestions other than ‘something’ :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

In overwatch it is so nice to get some skins. And I quite enjoy killing people with silly skins.

Especially when you kill them with the toy mallet!

I’ve wasted tens of thousands of gold moggin one time outfits that are just soooo awful for a laugh. I don’t think anyone noticed unless I pointed it out, but it makes me laugh. In game, as in life: I am my own best audience, comedian and critic. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Thank you this is a great sum.

I don’t care about fashion and dress up. Or collecting pets that stand beside you. Or collecting mounts that all do the same thing.

I want more gameplay. Zelda like puzzles would be really cool. More dungeons, more raids, better pvp balance.

I like video games. Yes I love the art in WoW. But are they the only team currently working?

Gameplay is more important to me than collections. This leads to people strongly disagreeing with me but whatever. I know many that feel the same.

I have been mogging less with the increase gold cost from the high ilvl gear, but yes it’s nice to dress up silly sometimes.

I recommend it on the smaller races like gnomes/mechagnomes. It can be funny killing people on say a small gnome. In heroes of the Storm I liked playing as murky, partly cause it was funny seeing these beefy heroes die to a baby murloc!

But they kept nerfing my favorite siege heroes and eventually I just stopped playing.
