Collecting and Dress up

I never would have thought World of Warcraft would become mostly about playing dress up with your character and collecting thousands of appearances, mounts, and pets.

A lot of people don’t even play the game anymore. They just buy gold and get ran through top content to get their achievements.

If WoW removed transmog, mount and pet collecting, all the ridiculous toys. What would they have left? It used to bring in over 10 million subs before all the collecting.

This game has just turned into a collectors theme park and by the way no random person cares about your collection, how your character looks, what your name is in-game etc. You’re just pixels that probably don’t even get a second thought or look because the sense of accomplishment or collecting these items went out the door years ago.

I just wonder why so many people stick with WoW for their Sims like dress up and collecting game? There are so many better options out there. Some you don’t even have to pay tons of money (like boosting)

I played the game during a time we didn’t have the collections tab and it was vastly more popular than it is now.

It would be nice to get something big added to the game that isn’t about cosmetics. That’s just all this game seems to be about anymore.

Because the game was a trend, WoW players don’t like to admit it but WoW was the fortnite of the 2000s.

It’s a fun dress up game. Get to hang out with friends and it’s fun to set up various goals to accomplish. There may be better options, but I like my collection here.

Incorrect. I can tell you aren’t a roleplayer.

But people don’t do it for others, they do it for themselves.

People have been collecting outfits way before transmog became a thing. Toys existed way before there was a toy box, too.

Just because you dislike it, doesn’t mean it’s wrong.

I don’t know anyone who gets carries for transmog. They wait until after it’s old content and go back with friends or solo it.

A raid is one season. Transmog is forever.

This is 100% wrong. Wow was not main stream in the 2000s, it was known and popular for gamers but these same gamers already knew and loved warcraft franchise and blizzard games.

Fortnite was mostly not liked by older gamers, but it went main stream and people played it for the sake of playing.

Hell, most people did not even know what wow was before around LK and later.

You’re in heavy denial my man.

WoW was not a trend like Fortnite.

I was made fun of by lots of people because I played WoW and before that EverQuest.

Thats your opinion but I personally remember talking to non-gamers back in 2005-2006 and they had no idea what WOW was.

You can’t really compare Fortnite to a game that made people commit serious crimes and gave people a more serious crippling addiction akin to crack.

O and let’s not forget the old post where a girl literally sold herself for a night for an epic mount.

Fortnite is nothing

This and everyone knows what Fortnite is. And Fortnite had a little more than 10 mil players lmao.

Why do you think it was more popular before transmog and collection? Pretty much everything that was here back than, is still here now.

And what is something big you want added that isn’t cosmetics? You did a tremendous job slamming current players (for reasons I don’t know why) but did not explain what it is you’d like to see, as far as change.

Glad you’re having fun.

Definitely not a roleplayer. Most of them play FFXIV now anyway.

I just wonder why people stick with WoW instead of playing something like The Sims.

Slamming? You’re very sensitive.

Uh huh. But can you answer the question?

MG and WrA are still pretty busy.

Because they’re two entirely different games. This doesn’t even make any logical sense.

Dude, don’t be salty just because you have ugly transmog. You can reach out for help or Google ideas. Jealousy isn’t a good look! :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

I haven’t played The Sims, I have a vague understanding of the franchise. Is there multiplayer? What kind of group objectives can you do in it?

Don’t really care. Just wishing more people would work on the game besides the art department.

Nah, you care. You care very much. Maybe too much.

Conversely, why do you stick with WoW if it’s not what you want it to be? Why should the people who get what they want out of the game be the ones to leave?

Uh huh… Care about what? I don’t even know what you are talking about. And how do you reset your post count? I know you have way more than 250 posts.
