Cold weather flying can't fly (fixed)

I learned cold weather flying on my level 70 alt, but can’t fly in Northrend. It’s learned in spellbook, and yet I can’t fly. Anyone had this issue?

Doesnt it still require lvl 76 or whatever before u can use it. The book is just to save on cost of training i thought.

Does your level 70 alt have his initial flight training?

My 70 has swift flying, mounts and flight form, and cold weather flying.

Just says “You can’t use that here”.

Weird. Maybe /reload or log your character off and then back on.

I did /reload, relog, closed game, opened, and killed my character. I’ll try clearing cache.

Nah, still nothing.

I thought there was a level reauirement.

Yeah, level 68, to learn it on alt. Then you can fly, but my character bugged somehow.

I’ve watched lvl 70s steal dozens of mining nodes from me today and I was fighting my way up to them… fly in and swipe it

I fixed it by going back to Stormwind and back to Northrend.

In case someone ends up with same issue.

Same issue. Sent the book to three toons, one can fly, two cant. Stormwind trick didn’t work for me and just automated ticket responses from blizzard. Anyone else having the same issue?

Even have the “Cold Weather Flying” passive in spell book.

I’ve found that you can’t fly in the starting town in howling fjord on alliance, unsure if theres other towns with this issue, but if anyone comes across this try leaving the town.

I just figured this out by trial and error also, can fly everywhere else. Thanks mate

are you sure it’s 68, I thought they said 70 for alts.

Tome of Cold Weather Flight, It requires level 68.

Yeah I trained it on my alt and was unable to use it too and panicked that I just wasted 1000g, until I understood I was just in a nofly zone.

So I do not understand why Valgarde is set as non-flyable right in the middle of a flyable zone.
What happens to people high up just crossing the zone?

if its anything like mounting in krasus landing and flying into dalaran alot of times you will get dismounted in the air

They fall to their death with no parachute. I learned this the hard way.

I’m having the same issue. Level 70 alt. A flight-only mount like a griffon it won’t let me mount at all. But even the Kalu’Ak glider it allows me to mount. It just won’t ever take off.
