Who asked for this? Developer time was spent on making this event? It’s quite literally the least inspired thing possible. Did anyone actually think it was fun?
You queue up a ridiculously long queue time for an event that really doesn’t need tanks or healers at all. Just to AOE down a bunch of mobs for like 5 min?
Does it only exist to give you the pitiful amount of tokens it drops afterwards weekly? Honestly they could have brought back the legion “Deaths of Chromie” scenario and have that drop some tokens and that would be maybe 1000x more enjoyable.
This is the pure definition of feature slop. The patch would have been better WITHOUT this being added because then more time could have been spent making other features better.
If you’re going to make a new scenario or repeatable event, maybe prioritize fun first? The same thing with awakening the machine tbh, on beta there was way more depth, achievements, and rounds to it, and they just cut it all and made it slop.
Be honest, would you actually be proud to have made this?

Slop? you call this SLOP?!
Real slop has chunks of things in it!
This is more like gruel!

Yes. Unironically. The fact that any video game gets made at all is magic to me.
Also we get it, you watched the bellular video.

Is slop the new favorite forum word? Been seeing it a lot lately.

It’s been pretty popular ever since marvel started releasing garbage stuff after endgame that ppl said was formulaic and lame

Bellular made a video in which he called the Codex of Chromie slop. So people are coming here to parrot the same opinion.

Is he wrong tho? I felt the exact same way about what he said. If not more. Most of the events aren’t fun for the 20th anniversary. Who the hell asked for lorewalker cho storytime?

ID call it far worse along with insults for all who worked on it but the forums hate brutal honesty.

If someone called the entire game ‘slop’ I wouldn’t disagree with them.
Formulaic and carefully synthesized for mass appeal. Sloppiest slop that ever slopped.

I thought we were still working off of terminology like skibidi. This world and its crazy trends change far too fast for me to keep up.
I know who you are!

I think that’s why WoW has fallen off for me.
Early WoW was a quite clearly an RPG. And it was kinda tedious and difficult for the time yes, but I think that was part of the charm.
The world was huge, game didn’t explain how to do things, you had to figure it out yourself or by word of mouth.
This version of WoW is a lobby-game, with a thousand mini-games inside of it. And the overworld stuff is braindead-easy.
And the content, the minigames, aren’t really entertaining in and of themselves, people just tell themselves they’ll be happier once they get the reward at the end.

Well, agreeing with any notable personality is tantamount to heresy on the forums.
Even when they are right.
Actually, I didn’t find that part to be too bad. Mostly. Cho had some great narrations during MoP, and you can still see them in his spot at the Vale of Eternal Blossoms.
The “audience participation” bit (required for the meta-achievement) and the whole thing being on a schedule? Not so great. Along with there only being three stories to see.
Ideally, it’d be a kinda-sorta solo shard where you can ask Cho to recount one of his stories for you to watch… like how it works in MoP. And several more of them.

All the Twitch creatures needed somewhere to go after the Fall of Lord Baldy.

They didn’t make much. Just re-released content with different headers
It doesn’t seem like much, but I guarantee you this took an entire team and like a month or two at least worth of effort
I’m not sure what they should have done. I think no matter what it wouldn’t have been enough for some people. He was overly histrionic in his appraisal of the situation. If the 90$ cash shop mount wasn’t added he wouldn’t have been as acerbic as he was. He wasn’t wrong about Blizzard not having the Q&A to properly test things anymore though.
