C.O.D. Item lost?

Greetings,

This post is regarding a [WoW: Classic] issue.

So I made the mistake of using C.O.D. to send a [Sentry Cloak] to a player, which is my own mistake for using that mail system. I was trying to be kind to the guy and I sent him a [Sentry Cloak] really cheap. I basically got trolled because the guy never accepted it for the full 3 days and I was only charging him 6 gold for this BiS twink item. Insane deal if you ask me and I was trying to be kind and help a fellow brother of the Horde rather than make money off someone. For some reason he never accepted it even after I messaged him a first time to remind him that I did send the item. On the second day I was getting curious on why he did not accept the item? I even told him that for 6 gold he could just accept it and resell it on the AH for much more or simply just return the item, but I was getting really curious of why he did not accept it. The guy replied with “I’m thinking about it”… Okay fair enough, he had 3 full days to think about it, I don’t understand why he did so, but he did.

I ended up blacklisting the guy (ignored) because, not only he trolled me on the trade, but I got wind that he was ninja-looting some other guildmates so I wanted to make sure I stayed far away from him in the future.

Now it’s been over 3 days (72hrs) and the C.O.D. mail wasn’t returned and I also did not received the 6 gold. I’m sure I did C.O.D. the item (don’t worry I did not sent him the item + 6 gold which can be a common mistake).

What’s going on with the item?
-Is C.O.D. return time not 72hrs anymore?
-Did the fact that I ignored the guy blocked the item return in some way?
-Did this ever happened to anyone else?

I did open on ticket regarding this, but since it’s Sunday I’m likely to get a response only by Monday night and I was just curious on what can be the issue here…

It’s been around 76hrs I sent the C.O.D.

Thanks for reading.

Try briefly unignoring the player to see if that makes the mail show up. While it automatically returns after 72 hours, it’s still coming from that player, and ignores also catch mail.

Yes I did try that, but only for a couple of minutes, I’ll try removing him again from ignore until tomorrow see if that would change something.

Just musing here but retail has an accidentally sent to wrong name ticket option or self recovery option. I cannot remember which.

Does classic have this as well?

I opened the ticket under “Mail return request” section. Since I did sent it to the right player I don’t think I can do so, I’ll try and check if the automated item recovery system would work for that, but I doubt it. I did not vendor or destroy the item by accident I thought that system was for that kind of stuff only.

Like I said I don’t remember the specifics. Was just throwing straws out there hoping a grasp might help. Sorry I didn’t help my friend.

It worked. I removed him from the ignore list and logged off for like 5 mins and the mail popped. Guess the issue was that I did put him on ignore. Thanks for the solution.

Glad that worked! Sorry that person wasn’t cool with the COD mail, but at least you got it back in a fairly timely manner.
