“They should be unavailable because Blizzard said so” is just the same as “They should be available because Blizzard says so”. So if Blizzard puts them back in, that’s all the justification you’ll need, right?
Your whole thing just smacks of ridiculous levels of “I got it, and I don’t want anyone else to have it so I can feel special.”
I want all the Challenge Mode sets and the weapons and I only earned the Druid & Shaman sets. Does that mean I should go throw up a post and whine that I didn’t earn the other class sets too?
No, because I didn’t earn them. And that’s that. You accept it and move on and ask for similar rewards to be made in future content.
Oh, I understand where you’re coming from. The point specifically I’m countering part of your statement is that I’m only in this for myself. Well, you’re demonstrating that wanting it to not come back is for your elitist self with this specific paragraph.
I just think it was a good challenge system with a proper reward structure that had no reason for being dropped other than they didn’t want to make the effort to keep it a challenge at the end of BfA.
On one hand I agree it does suck you can’t earn the roid bear form but on the other hand if you would have played during legion you could have easily gotten it. Sure some legendaries made it easier but I was feral through most of legion and still managed to get roid bear and glitter cat. I hate myself for not doing the mop challenge set while I was playing I really want the mage set but it’s something I just have to accept
I guess it depends on your point of view. As mentioned in this thread, there have been many items in this game that rewarded players for playing “at that time”. If you didn’t obtain them during that time, you never can obtain them again. I don’t understand why this is a “Tough pill to swallow”.
Technically it did reward players for “Skill”. Even though you could out gear the events, they still took coordination and planning on our part. A new player probably wouldn’t walk into any of those mage towers and clear them, even with good gear. They would simply not understand what was happening or the mechanics.
When I say this was easy for me, with alts, that doesn’t mean I didn’t spend the better part of two weeks on multiple characters to get all the skins. And for those two weeks that was basically all i was doing. It wasn’t like I just walked into the tank and healer challenges and ACED them. For me, in particular the healer ones were a challenge for some of my classes as BURST and AOE burst healing was important for a phase. For instance, on my paladin healer, it was cake, but my holy priest struggled since my gear wasn’t optimal stat wise.
Throughout the majority of WoW, there have been achievements and there have been time-sensitive achievements. Blizzard clearly states when something is a time sensitive achievement. It’s a bit disingenuous for you to claim you want other things removed as some sort of recompense even though those things have never been time sensitive.
Ummm, assuming you completely missed the point. Mage tower skins shouldn’t be added back since they were announced as time sensitive. The crap about removing titles from mythic raids was never a time sensitive achievement.
Yes, you did… and you continually ignore the fact that one of these things is a time-sensitive award. I know why you ignore it, but you doing so doesn’t change the fact that mage tower skins were a reward for playing and time sensitive.
I think it’s fair to want the skelton/model to come back in some way or another. Even if it’s not that exact form, it’s a little silly there is such little innovation in druid form models. And i don’t mean in terms of color or if bones are on the model or if it’s glow in the dark or not. The werebear has an entirely different skeleton/animations. They should at least add some more innovative ways for druids to unlock things that aren’t stock cat/bear/chicken rigs.
They already have, there is a slew of other forms you can unlock in Legion still, just not the mage tower. You should’ve played during Legion if you want the limited time rewards.
Again, all the other forms are simply cosmetic changes put onto the same bear rig. Same thing with the cat forms. I’m alright with the werebear forms from legion in particular being kept exclusive but I do think bear/cat/boomie/even resto druids deserve to have more variety in rigs considering the technology is absolutely there.
I don’t know how a paragraph explaining that I took the time to earn them when they were announced to be removed is elitist. It’s just playing the game. I didn’t get every single one I wanted but, I got as many as I could, literally up to the patch day.
Nah they could just make the rewards account bound. Problem solved.
It is a “tough pill to swallow” because as I already stated, Druid is extremely limited in the forms of transmogrification that they can use. Honestly I don’t care about the werebear to much (mostly because it seems like the animations are lacking) but I do want the sparkly cat. Hence my idea, which I think should appease both veteran and new players.
Absolutely not. The Mage Tower was advertised as a limited time reward from the very start. Its the same as Challenge Mode gear in MoP and WoD. If you didn’t get it then, you don’t get it now. Its that simple.
Then, as usual, you are completely missing the point. Time to replace your processor.
You made accusations that are unfounded based on your personal feelings. I am returning the favor.
Actually, it wasn’t. That was a change made some time after the following patch was released. Someone gave the patch notes earlier if you want to go take a look.
Pretty much, and it isn’t even the only alternate form that used that rig, either. Cat form used to have one on the same rig in the previous expansion. Why not make it available again, even with new skins instead, through the same set up as was used previous? Because someone might get their elitist pants twisted by it? Please, give me some logic.
The Mage Tower appearances should not become available again. It was explicitly stated to be have limited time to get it. It is unfortunate if one specific skin you want is unattainable, but there are a dozen other Feral skins that came out in Legion.
If the Druid skins came back, Blizzard would be required to also re-release every other artifact challenge skin, which is even more unlikely.
Blizzard should, however, be open to releasing more new forms for Druids, even if they also end up being some limited-time item that we need to do challenging solo content to earn, such as something with Torghast.
TLDR: Do not re-release the challenge skins. Period.
They weren’t announced as time-gated when released, and Blizzard has changed their minds on such things in the past.
The only reason they didn’t continue it was because it would be way to easy if they left it as is and they were already having a hard time getting BfA content working, so had not time to develop the Mage Tower challenge to upgrade with you at 120.
And I’m totally behind the reasons for that. The Mage Tower woudn’t be a challenge if they left it as was, and their BfA developers were having such a hard time with everything else, it could have made everything in the Sailing Isles even worse then what we already had.
That being said, there are two development teams, and the one who made the Mage Tower is the one working on the Jailer’s tower. In addition to that, encounter scaling is in the game at present, so would only need to be adjusted for the Level squish more than anything.
