Closing accounts for solo farming Karazhan

Blizzard is permanently banning accounts for solo farming the non elite mobs in the Karazhan ballroom with a well geared protection paladin. A guild mate of mine just had his account closed for doing it. This is a warning.

You don’t know what your guild mate was doing and what he was banned for. You only know what he TOLD you. There’s a difference.

Tier 6 geared pally. Killing 5 groups, running out, and resetting the instance. Not doing anything against the terms of service.

just appeal it

That you know of.

Why would a cheater tell you they were cheating? That’s called a paper trail.

I’m just warning people. If you want to do, be my guest. If you happen to get banned for it, that’s on you.

Permanent ban for “just” farming Kara. Yep. Sure it was. I’m positive that’s what the email he got said.

I guarantee something else is at play here. Just like a year ago when this happened to people farming Strat.

Posts like this intentionally leave out the full story. Everyones coming here for posts like this to paint themselves as innocent beyond reproach and unfairly persecuted.

Weird my guild has 4 pallys all doing this since pre patch and haven’t gotten banned. Almost as if your friend was doing sketchy stuff and by friend I’m assuming you mean you.

They wouldnt ban for that and if they did it was unnintentional like all the AV bans. He should just appeal if he really wasnt doing anything else.

The email absolutely would state he was banned for violating TOS, but people keep forgetting that time and time again people have come to the forums claiming they or their friends were wrongfully actioned against, peopled laughed them off, and then a few days later a Blue post comes out stating something along the lines about how some unmerited bans happened and they are being reverted. In fact this literally just happened over in the BG world due to people spamming AV and lots of people getting reported.

This scenario has played out multiple times so I have no idea why people are inclined to take Blizzard’s side on this by default anymore because all the evidence points to the fact that the penalty system is highly automated if not entirely automated. Considering the reoccurring theme of Blizzard coming out to apologize for inaccurate bans I’m inclined to believe if anyone is actually reviewing bans that they are doing so in a very rushed process that lacks accuracy because the alternative is they don’t actually exist despite Blizzard claiming they do.

Blizzard doesn’t issue permanent bans lightly.

This is likely a botting ban.

For botting they ban for 6 months for first offense and then perma you if you do it again.

If he wasn’t botting he needs to appeal.

He wasn’t banned for solo farming he was probably banned for gold selling.

Would be better if most bans weren’t in the wrong and so many players had to appeal. :man_facepalming:

The email would actually go into detail as to what part of the TOS he was violating, and most likely in this case would be for RMT.

I live and breathe in BGs. The handful of wrong bannings is not the evidence you think it is. Stick to your PvE world.

It’s not. Squelching is, though, but that’s been publicly known since Wrath’s original launch.

A paper trail involves paper or other written evidence. LOL.

pallies can solo stuff same thing with mages. you shouldnt ban people for the class. as long as they weren’t using a program and doing it themselves it should be all good

Wouldn’t be the first time Blizzard banned for something that’s not against the rules, and it certainly won’t be the last time. I get it you guys want to simp for blizz and insist this guy’s buddy was cheating but there is actually a chance he wasn’t cheating at all. I know from experience, my husband was banned for something that wasn’t cheating years ago.

Have him appeal it and deal with their single-brain-celled “gamemasters” and hope you actually get one that knows the difference between cheating and not. Good luck to you.

And OP is a paladin.

hmm.
