So, Blizzard announced that the cloning cost would be $35. Honestly, are they crazy?
Major pass on that option. Itās really unfortunate. This is really going to kill the Classic Era population.
I would have cloned several characters at $10. None at the $35 price point. I wouldnāt even do it at a 50% discount from that price.

Now that I know the cost Iām not doing 4 chars. itās too steep IMO. I might pay to clone one horde and one alliance even though I think itās too expensive. Iāll also just consider only cloning my druid while leaving one of my 60 alliances on Classic Era and the other moving it to TBC. Yeah, Iāll probably do the second thing and just pay for one clone.

Per toon cost is way too high, If I have 4 toons, its 140 dollars to clone each.

I probably would have paid 20, but doubt I would play classic much anyway, so figure I will just move all my characters to TBC now, and if I decide that I want to play classic, would probably just start over sometime in the future if I get bored, and want to start over.
Iād pay zero dollars to clone. Pretty ridiculous that we even have to pay in the first place. At the $35 price tag Classic-era servers will likely be DoA.

Everyone is looking at this all wrong. You think they are greedy charging $35. They are banking on that no one pays the $35 dollars and they can shut those servers down. Saving them more money in the long run.

Too bad everyone canāt just band together and not use the cloning service. Activate all your characters to Classic Era and everyone reroll TBC.

I agree. I was planning to dabble with both Classic and TBC but thatās now out the window.
Classic Era population will now be terrible.
TBH I think the entire point is to have a high enough cost-of-entry so they can actually build and maintain appropriate server populations.
If the xfer was free, everyone would use it on every toon, and the servers would be chock full of toons with almost no connection to the actual active playerbase.
The last thing you want is too many Classic servers that almost all die because the vast majority of toons on them were never going to be played again anyway.

I wouldnāt pay a dime tbhā¦ if there is any additional fee attached the classic servers would be so dead that it would be a waste of money.
Honestly thought I was going to use this on all my characters if it were like $15 max, now iām just taking my main to outland and Iāll level another in classic if I feel like it. To be honest leveling in classic again might be more fun anyway

Yeah Iām done with this company and this game. Iāve been playing since March 07, and NEVER have I seen such levels of arbitrary player-screwing greed. They can f off with $35 clone fee when it should be FREE. I am tired of them making decision after decision to bend over their paying customers. Bye Blizz, havenāt played in months and was actually gonna start playing again with BC, now Iām not touching it. I know itās only $15 but still. Go to hell, you greedy corporate pigs.
