Cloning Cost - what would you pay? (Not $35! $15 ok!)

Based on your logic, buying an expansion is P2W.

I think most view P2W as spending money to get an advantage, and cloning a character doesn’t really give you an advantage.

Exactly! An expansion can be considered P2W.
Back in Pre-TBC Vanilla if you didn’t buy TBC expansion you could still play the game, just not experience the fullness that the expansion bought. To enhance your experience of the game it’s gonna cost you.

If you Google P2W there are multiple websites with multiple ways to deceive the definition of P2W. You seeing P2W as giving an advantage over a F2P person; doesn’t make my way of defining P2W wrong.

Advantages, Enhancement of experience with the game, cosmetics, everyone can simply say P2W can be any of those.

Did I create a good enough assertion to get some lulz from you?

Well, I think you have a strange way of viewing what is considered P2W. I guess I will leave it at that.

I would pay zero. There is no reason to play Vanilla with TBC a thing ever again. Now I will do GDKP Naxx still. Starting over Fresh again. Hard pass. Paying to copy a toon to Classic only in P6? Why?

Not everyone kept up to current content or maybe they want to progress an alt and don’t require fresh to do it.

i agree although i think 20$ seems more like what they will do

I’d consider copying my lock, since it’s almost perfect bis at this point, and Vanilla era lock is imo more fun than TBC era lock for pvp…

That said, I have little to no faith that these permanent p6 servers are a viable enterprise vs just launching “FRESH” like the Pservers did so I wouldn’t put much money behind it. $10 MAYBE $15…but hell, even at $10, I don’t know how often I’d actually play it, and I’m super skeptical they’ll even be alive in 6 months.

Not a damm thing, because copying files is free. Your character should stay on your classic realm and be automiatically copied to TBC. If you don’t log in to play TBC that fine. It will be there when you do. We need to stop encouraging this overpriced crap service.

If I could clone myself, would the clone obey me or would it demand I obey it? This is an important question to answer before making such major decision.

$25. i mean, im going to have to pay whatever blizzard sets it to because i dont want to lose 2 years worth of work.

I came here hoping to see a druid offer “tree-fiddy.” I’ll show myself out.

Nope. If there’s no pizza involved, it isn’t P2W. Except mushroom pizza. I like mushroom pizza, so that isn’t P2W.

I mean, that’s as reasonable as your definition.

Although I won’t be using the service, I think $10 is fair.

I would pay…my monthly sub fee, nothing more, and them charging for it is just insulting and low down IMO.

How is giving you a 2d character insulting?

For free, you get exactly what you have now: either on TBC or on CE. It’s your choice. Just keep playing, for your normal monthly fee.

For the 1% of players who actually want to play both, you can get a 2d character for a fee. That is a “special feature”, not required, not expected, not normal. Two characters instead of 1. It’s like a boost, but a fully-geared boost.

Same.

I wouldn’t pay any more than $20 for a clone and maybe not even that.

So you think they should charge you for all your characters on retail vs classic too? I mean how many characters do folks have there? Cloning the character should be the default so we can play whatever “classic version” we feel like.

It’s not a big deal to me personally, I’ll just go TBC all out, but yeah, I think it is pretty cheap and “money grubbing” of them.

I’d much prefer to pay $10 for this. I’m an altaholic and can see cloning at least 3 if not 4. That adds up to close to a retail lvl boost. I enjoy leveling and questing a lot so if the price is higher than $20, I’ll just leveling new toons.
I have been wondering about character slots with this too. Im sweating at maxed out slots lol.
