Clone Gold

So if I pay to clone a character… he keeps his gold.

Can I then send the classic copy gold to another character and clone him?

A paid way to dupe gold?

Should work just like copying to BETA where you have exactly what you had on you at the snapshot.

for TBC / Classic Vanilla transition the time of snapshot is gonna be really damn soon in the next week or so… So whatever you got on you is what you will have on your first and clone. (AT the time of the snapshot)

There is only a single snapshot taken so you should move all of your gold to the character that you are planning to clone, and that gold will then be available for both Classic Era and TBC.

You can’t dupe the gold.

Your other characters are already copied, with whatever gold they had on them at the time.

You’re just paying to get access to them in both Classic Era and TBC.

No. Every character in the game is cloned at the same time.

You can’t send something to a character and then clone him then. He was cloned before.

If this is true it makes it even more silly they are charging $35 to simply “unlock” an already cloned character.

Hey Charax!
Haven’t seen you in a while. How’s ED treating you still?
(Cmhiten here)

If it’s done BEFORE May 18th, yes. Anything AFTER May 18th, will NOT be “Snapshotted”.

Anything done AFTER the “Snapshot” will NOT be duplicated.

Technically, you can have a buddy who is staying in Classic send you all his gold before the snapshot, pay for clone, then give the gold back and then have his gold in TBC can’t you?

In essence, there’s no way to stop people from cloning gold if you’re going into TBC with everything you’ve got.

It’s not duplicating because the two servers can never interact. You’ll have your gold in classic era and you’ll have it in TBC if you clone

why would blizzard allow this?

You gotta get the gold before the snapshot is taken.

You’re not getting what I’m saying. I know the servers don’t interact.
But you CAN duplicate gold.

Step 1) A friend with a ton of gold gives you all their gold in Classic before prepatch.
Step 2) Wait for prepatch snapshot - your character with all that gold is cloned to TBC server.
Step 3) Pay to activate the clone on Classic Era server.
Step 4) In Classic Era server, give the gold back to your friend
Step 5) The gold on your character in TBC still has all that duplicated gold.

What am I not getting right here?

False, when you copy to the beta you have the current stuff in your bags. All toons will be snapshotted once and thats it, it will not take a new snapshot.

the end result is the same. You make have more gold but he won’t so unless he is going classic forever then you get no benefit. What kind of friend would ditch you for classic forever?

Read again tib. Used beta as an analog, and then expressed the snapshot.

Yes the friend won’t, that’s why you give the gold back to him in Classic Era once it’s cloned and since it was snapshotted in TBC. Nobody loses gold - the person who cloned to TBC will get cloned gold (which was borrowed from the friend)

That is literally duplicating gold.

I am saying this will apply to folks who have friends that decide to stay back in Classic. You can clone gold from people who stay in classic into TBC is all I’m saying.

Yes, your character in Classic and your character in TBC will have the same amount of gold.

No.

Definitely no.

“Yes, your character in Classic and your character in TBC will have the same amount of gold.”

This means you can dupe gold with the help of a friend. Get your friend to give you all his gold before prepatch snapshot. Once you’ve been snapshot onto TBC, pay for the clone to classic so you can give your friend the gold back.

Why is this so hard for people to understand?
