Click macros, game unplayable

Hello. I enjoyed leveling this warlock. However maybe a day after I hit 85 /click function was broken so you can’t /click another macro.
If you’ve played a pet class competently then you know that the macro character limit does not allow you to use various pet’s abilities and your conditionals (@party1,2,3,4,5,mouseover,etc) in a single macro.

If /click isn’t going to be fixed that’s fine. But when are we getting the fix that allows us to use a hotkeyed spell/macro at party/arena/etc dependent on which modifier we press?

Its been a few months now and its not looking good. I’ve been playing era (I use /click macros there too but putting up with its absence) while waiting for a fix. I was looking forward to mop. Will there be a fix or is this the end of classic for me?

What’s the macro you want specifically?

This macro works fine…

#showtooltip
/use [btn:2,mod:shift] Dash;[mod:alt]Rabid

But as soon as I add another ability with no modifier it only uses the first ability.

Its a few hundred macros, specifically.

/click ActionButton1
/click ActionButton2

With multiple macros being clicked on the actionbar by said macros.
On a warlock imp spell macro would be on actionbutton1 and voidwalker spell macro would be on actionbutton2

I’m tired of rewriting hundreds of macros every time someone delves into a pet project. In this case there is no fixing the macros to regain what was lost.

Okay so I misunderstood the macro and after looking at what a /click macro does I’m just confused on its usefulness. A macro for your macros seems beyond pointless to me, why wouldn’t you just press your macro instead of a macro that presses a different macro? They have to be on your bars anyway so what’s the point of them?

It has many uses.

In theme with what I’ve already said, you can’t have two pets out at once. So instead of using eight macros and keybinds for just two pets or twenty macros and keybinds for 5 pets you can use just four or five keybinds (and many macros) for 5+ pets.

With /click you can also include commands in all of your macro’d spells such as
/cleartarget
/startattack [nostealth]
/targetenemy [noharm]
/stopspelltarget
/focus [mod:shiftalt,@mouseover,help][nomod:alt,mod:shiftctrl,help]

The macro character limit does not allow you to use various pet’s abilities and your conditionals (@party1,2,3,4,5,mouseover,etc) in a single macro.

It honestly just sounds like you’re using more macros and action bars just to press less buttons am I getting that right? To me it sounds like you’re not saving space at all by doing this and are just making things more complicated than it needs to be if you’re doing it as what I’ve read about it which is editting it the macros constantly depending on what raid/boss you’re doing. If that is the case then that’s just more work than what’s needed.

I don’t know about other action bar addons (I asusme it’d be the same for those but ElvUI lets you use of 15 action bars. That’s 180 buttons to press just from action bars

I honestly think that you can just pair ability types into macros instead, for example…

/use [known:11366]Fireball;[known:44425]Arcane Blast;[known:31687]Frostbolt
/cancelaura Ice Block
/cancelaura Invisibility
/cancelaura Slow Fall
/cancelaura Levitate

Instead of having 3 seperate macros for each of my main spells (Fireball, Frostbolt and Arcane Blast) I’ve condensed it into one macro that’d auto switch depending on what spec I’ve gone. I’m sure the same can be applied to your macros as well. Share them and let’s see if they can’t be condensed down.

Another example is this…

/use [@cursor,known:99]Hurricane;[@cursor,known:2120]Flamestrike;[@cursor,known:53428]Death and Decay;[@cursor,known:1752]Distract;[@cursor,known:546]Earthquake;[@cursor,known:845]Heroic Leap;[@cursor,known:5740]Rain of Fire

This macro saves me doing 6 seperate macros and instead condenses it down to one.

Just seems better tbh, I don’t know though, share your macros and I’ll see if anything can be condensed I guess.

I still don’t know why you’d need that many macros for Hunter/Warlock pets, you can just keybind their abilties on the pet bar and switch stuff around…

Example...

I still don’t see its usefulness when there’s very easy options. I’ve removed the stances of my pet (leaving it in passive) and have everything bound that needs to be bound.

How many macros are you actually making because if you’re claiming that you’re making a few hundred macros I can’t wrap my head around that. Are you using all of your macro slots for just 1/2 classes? There’s 120 general macro slots and 30 character macro slots so the claim of a “few hundred” is just wrong.

Just to clarify, I know that it’s probably for PvP use but what pet abilities are usable on allies?

The only macros that you’d want in PvP as a Hunter/Warlock are focus and arena 1-5 macros which either way you’d want to be seperate I’d imagine.
