And not one damn word about it in their PR stunt. Classic.
This post has been going around a lot already and while it might be true they ādoubled itā, itās simply back to what it was in classic. 36g was from Season of Mastery and now itās back to what it originally was. All this was is a fix that forgot to be implemented until they went back over everything for phase 2.
Could you even buy it before 40?
And you wonder why there is a Bot/RMT problem. What is it with making changes you KNOW will be ill received. Are the Devs all just masochists?
Changes = the same classic costs? Everyone had no problem getting a mount at lvl 40 in classic launch without bots/rmt. Not sure why itās harder all of a sudden when weāve been stuck at 25 with boosted gold gains from quests and now will be stuck at 40 with boosted gold gains from quests again at that level cap. Most people already have the gold or will have it by the time they hit 40.
It isnāt a āchangeā. The error was using the SoM price initially. Other than SoM it has always been the amended price in Classic/Vanilla.
With extra gold from quests and the long pause at level 25, people have much more gold than usual - plus can get lots more gold at level 40 from quests.
Why canāt you handle gold sinks in an MMO?
Yeah and it makes sense why they reduced the price in SoM. They had an xp buff from 1 to 60 with no time gated level band phases. You got to 40 doing less quests, you had less gold. They didnāt increase the gold received from anything, so the solution was reduce cost
Welp, even if you could potentially buy it before 40, the price was known to be low and so if you didnāt take advantage then you can only blame yourself. I too was lazy about it and didnāt think they would raise the price. Only have myself to blame.
Is this something Iām just too warlock to understand?
Just the devs teaching us all the exploit early and often.
I think this is right. With the uncontrolled botting I get that theyāre trying to sink gold out of the game but this really sucks for players with limited time. If you want me ādiscoveringā the game, why gold sink the mount? This makes very little sense. Iām really quite annoyed at this. Guess Iām going to be contributing to the problem by selling solo runs and tanking and leveling my mage so I can sell boosts. I HATE selling boosts but selling items/tanking/boosts is far more efficient than any method other than swiping a card.
This is a BAD change and I hope they go back. Yeah I might have a decent amount of gold on my toons - like 50-60g but this makes it harder to enjoy the game.
I hope they revert this.
They should double the cost to 200. If you can afford 1000 later you can afford 200 now duh.
Sorry just trying to post like other people do, seeing what it feels like lol. Feels weird. This is an obvious bait and switch and Iām not happy about it, need to farm more money. This is the season of alts which is why I thought they had cheaper mount costs.
They should lower it before Thursday.
Seasonal content doesnāt need gold sinks. Weāre not farming for long-term investment in characters in seasonal realms.
Itās an iteration of vanilla, saving for a mount by level 40 was a challenge that many a people failed to properly plan for, and ended up hurting themselves over, often not getting a mount until ~44 or so.
AND THATāS A GOOD THING.
Learn some in game fiscal responsibility.
If weāre not meant to invest in our characters then whats the point? Such a bad take.
If someone planned for the expected price that is now more because blizzard randomly changed it thatās not bad fiscal responsibility itās bad game design.
Blizzard hasnāt said whether this is a bug yet or not though.
Its obvious they want to get the economy under control lol⦠boon trinkets for 75g⦠100g mounts.
They should take over for the governmentā¦
im tired of 12 dollars for a carton of eggs.
If this is a season server, which it is, then keep the lower price.
That point is moot with SoD since we had so much time to farm gold at 25. Amongst many other things that SoM included but werenāt included with SoD. Some of them being more impactful like restricting world buffs in raids.
