I believe Brian Holinka said that these sorts of things could happen, but they’d require build up and substantiation, which is perfectly fine by me. So, there would have to be a very good reason why the Forsaken of all races would be able to become a Paladin when they aren’t fond of the light and the ideals of a Paladin don’t match up with their ethos at all. But it isn’t impossible.

It’s happening. Priest, Mage, and Rogue Classes will now be available to all Races. Meaning you’re getting your Tauren Rogue!!
I’m with you in the fact of all Races be coming everything and I’d gladly support Gobo-dines! For me, my concern with the smaller races like Gnomes, Goblins, and Vulpera is their stature and that the “big weapons” (two handed weapons especially for Ret) are going to clip all in the ground on their ba ks and the animations of swinging a 2 handed wep on a small Race will look silly because Blizzard never really attempted to have large weapons scale down to the small statures of the smaller Races. I’m not saying there’s no scaling, I’m just saying to me, they don’t look right at the moment.

Where’s my Mechagnome Demon Hunter? They already function without eyes, so name a better demon hunter race than one with cybernetic eye implants.

night elf mages and goblin shamans are already an abomination and they’ve been playable since like cata. I personally think some races and class combos should stay npc only. like when people point to undead paladins. but tauren rogue is happening so what do I know. make goblin druids playable. their animal forms are little vehicles they ride with the same aesthetic as their totems and shreeders

Jokes aside, lore…is that really the hill people wanna die on? The same lore that’s been changed over 20 times now? I will never understand people wanting less choice with things. It has never made sense to me why people are ok with it.
presses up glasses “But the lore”, might’ve worked back in the day but it’s 2022. Tauren are Paladins, Undead are Hunters, freaking Goblins are Shamans. Lore doesn’t mean jack squat with classes since other races could easily learn from others.

If we open the door for every class combo . Not see any reason this not to happen in the game . It’s just game mechanic. Not a lore .

Exactly, its time we advance forward. If cross faction play, account bound stuff, and other things to come is fine (to most) then lets make it to where the game is more fun and customizable to the playerbase. After all for those who really can’t stand the thought of their immersion being broken… we players simply do not exist on Azeroth. We are a random, faceless, nameless adventurer or Champion. We have no race, gender / sex, or class the story describes as. If we wanted to be a half night elf ogre cyborg wielding a 2h hammer and gun as we help kill the big bads the lore will never say what its up to your imagination to what it is.

Void Elf Paladin should never be a thing.
Not without a complete kit overhaul to make the spells void magic.
As for Druid and Shaman… I can’t see it. Elements enslaved by void, Nature doesn’t appreciate being corrupted by it either. We gotta draw the line somewhere and Void Elves are that somewhere I reckon. Night Elf Paladin makes a load more sense tbh.
Holding out hope for a corrupted Tyrande we kill someday like Hour of Twilight foretold.

Lor’themar and Liadrin told me to stop drinking the fel kool-aid out of the green fel gems we had in stock… so they dumped me in the sunwell and repent in front of a naruu for a month under careful guard

All sense of us being lore relevant died ages ago. We are non cannon. I see no reason not to open the floodgates on classes/races.

There’s a lot of race class combos that shouldn’t even exist.
Tauren - Priest, Rogue, Paladin, Mage, Monk. They don’t fit the race’s lore in any capacity. They are incredible as Hunters, Shamans, and Warriors and nothing else.
Most Priest/Race combos shouldn’t be capable of being Holy. A Holy Priest worships the Light. This is something specific to Humans, Draenei, Some Drawves, probably Worgen, and Some High/Blood Elves.
Arthas’s Death Knights should have been Orc, Human, Dwarf, Troll, and Blood Elf only. (Forsaken count as humans) Every other race in the game was not a faction that was actively present in Lordaeron.
Pretty much every Paladin that’s not Human, Dwarf, or Draenei requires intense handwaving. I think they pulled it off with Blood Elves subjugation of a Naaru as a replacement for mana, but no one else.
Night Elf Mages are stupid.

Void Elf Paladin would be great as would Undead. I would take Night Elf though, Alliance need at least one elf race for paladins.
Honestly I am fine with any combo at this point. Doesn’t hurt anyone to let that happen.
