Class/Race Combos & Player Customization

I’m here for the Forsaken paladins. Soon… very soon.

I mean if Sir Zeliek can do it and Whitemane… I don’t see why this can’t be done for the champion/hero/legendary/unique player.

Pretty hilarious that we have night warriors, literally ‘warriors’ blessed by a wrathful god, but no paladins yet lol.

I put my money down that this is their goodwill token for the -next- xpac, and that’s why we’re not getting any new ones for SDL.

I’d prefer them not wait and just allow new race class combinations now. There’s no reason to wait another 3ish years before we get new combinations. Delas didn’t have to wait to become a paladin. Liadrin didn’t wait to become a paladin.

With the new intro campaign starter quest scenario we should honestly be allowed to choose pretty much any race and pretty much any class as we aren’t going to be restricted to our racial starting areas.

I agree completely with Telar.

Blood Elf Druids need to be added but then they’d have 11 classes and what would be the point of not allowing Blood Elf Shamans at that point? This is probably why they aren’t considering it because the most populous race only has 2 left to choose from and they probably should do both but at that point is it fair to allow 1 race to do everything even if I want that, I doubt others want that.

I mean you say that, but trolls and dwarves have access to 10 classes just as many as blood elves. Blood elves only have 9• with the 10th being demon hunter which I think is a crap class.

I think adding more races to demon hunter would vastly alleviate the number of Blood Elf DHs.

I forgot we don’t count those edge lords here! I agree, I feel like they should just give them the last 2 anyways.

I would be fine with just druids.

I want my worgen monks already. I also want worgen paladins.

I’d love to see kul’tiran paladins and void elf paladins, as well.

The Alliance needs a few more pallies to balance out the pally/shaman Alliance/Horde numbers. And even ignoring that, I want to see those races get paladin anyway.

Let my worgen serve the Light again without having to be a priest.

Honestly, for now I think if the dev team were to be convinced to lift a few restrictions, they’d probably take baby steps before they start doing some of the more (For lack of a better word) “Out there” race/class combos.

Who knows, if the time skip theory holds true by the end of the expansion, who knows what’ll happen to the rest of the races still on Azeroth and how much their societies will shift over how much time passes.

Beyond that, lore is really fickle when it comes to this sort of stuff. Because obviously the restrictions do add an element of flavor to the identity of the races and where their values lie.

But there are still some really obvious outliers that just seem silly at this point.
The fact it took quite a bit for Blood Elf Warriors or Human Hunters to become available is a bit of a testament to that.

The reason is to stagger out the level-up-a-new-alt thing for as long as possible.

I feel like the addition of allied races really solved that for them.

For now, sure, but I expect they want to trickle new combos over a long period, to space out the leveling.

I can see your point on this, but adding a new class to each of the core races wouldn’t be much of an issue if it wasn’t completely out of the realm of possibility.

  • Humans - Shaman

  • Dwarves - Druid

  • Night Elves - Paladin

  • Gnomes - Shaman

  • Worgen - Monk

  • Orcs - Druid or Priest

  • Trolls - Paladin

  • Forsaken - Shaman

  • Tauren - Warlock or Mage

  • Blood Elf - Druid

  • Goblin - Monk

  • Pandaren - Druid

Baby steps is definitely where I would see them going.
(You forgot Goblin Monk on your list too, lol)

Fixed! LOL It felt short for the horde.

I feel like we could use more of everything.

Really open things up. One or two per race.

  • Worgen monks and paladins
  • Goblin monks
  • Tauren warlocks and mages
  • Highmountain priests and paladins
  • Human shamans
  • Night Elf paladins
  • Blood Elf druids
  • Draenei rogues and demon hunters
  • Orc demon hunters
  • Darkspear Troll paladins
  • Gnome shamans
  • Kul’tiran paladins and warlocks
  • Void Elf paladins
    etc

If they want to keep us around and keep us leveling alts, give me more reason to level alts, I say. Worgen and goblins have been pointlessly cheated out of monk forever. Worgen, kul’tiran, and void elves should get paladins. Draenei and orcs should get demon hunters.

Worgen need more classes that can actually tank without being technically undead and/or turning into a bear (read: any class other than just warrior). Having a bunch of werewolves that are mostly caster classes really blows my mind.

Also for all of the classes minus monk, druid, and demon hunters there aren’t any new changes that need to be made for existing models rigs. Playing with model viewer and even the wowhead dressing room. All the races have the spell animations and martial animations for the classes already.

Worgen and Goblin would need monk animations added, and any class having demon hunter added to their ranks. Then with druids it would be construction of new forms for the races. But if it’s limited to blood elf, dwarf, and pandaren that really covers the new addition to druids for awhile.
