Probably just has to keep talking in circles, because there really isn’t any actual talking points to support his belief that classic is superior.
It’s not harder, (Infact, people playing classic beta commented that it wasn’t nearly as hard as they thought they remembered) it’s not more difficult (in most cases, everythings even more simplified than today, and there’s no special neat mechanics) it’s buggy as heck (Like, really buggy) There’s alot of archaic things put back into the game that were removed for a good reason (Hello hunter dead zone anyone?) And something being tedious, doesn’t make it better.

The vast majority of people who are excited for classic will ditch it after the first month. The current day player base will not accept the lack of player comforts that classic has. And people love to win about class balance today? God it was just as bad in classic…
I loved vanilla and I intended to mess around on classic but let’s stop pretending that this is some how going to eclipse retail in any meaningful way. It if was then the “pirated” servers running classic like WoW would have been larger than the live ones.

Who says LFR is hard? LFR is pretty easy, basically fall asleep doing it.
Just like in classic raids. Everythings so dull and boring, probably spend more time trying to actually get 40 people together, and everyone actually paying attention than you do raiding.
Your rather vitriolic, elitist, antisocial attitude is what will put off potentially thousands of new players.

The game will be much better when people like him go off to their imaginary lala land, and leave the rest of us alone I personally think.
Considering classic through to wotlk had a far higher sub count than BFA, OP is right to a certain extent. A lot of people have quit due to the new direction WoW has/was/is headed.
Stocks down, subs down, etc… even forcing blizz to admit they over pruned classes and what not. So, all the bootlickers that will defend store mounts and BFA etc no matter what is actually happening around them are somewhat delusional to suggest that the majority are happy with the current game… the overwhelming poor feedback from the community, amount of people who have quit, and the people excited for classic should all tell you that not everyone is happy.
I don’t think 9.0 should revert back to classic, but OP sure has a good point re the hype for classic. People miss the MMO aspect… unique classes, gear being hard to get/meaningful, people actually being out in the world and not sitting in garrisons queuing for things.

Everyone thinks their personal pet peeves are the cause of the sub loss, and completely ignore other factors such as:
- People actually just not playing the game anymore
- The sheer number of bot accounts nuked over the years
- People that generally only sub 1-3 months at a time during just new patch content then go inactive
- People who grow up, and become too busy to dedicate to an MMO anymore
- People whose financial situations change and they have to cut corners, and WoW isn’t a nessessity.
The games been out for 15 years after all, these are just a few other examples of things people stop playing for, that aren’t reflective of how people “view” the “Changes of direction”

It’s a rather stagnant island that will never progress. After everyone is geared and did everything within a year or two… What then? Reroll, sure. But what will they do in 3 years? 4?
How many will put up with the archaic snail’s pace for even so much as a year?
I am not criticizing the people who will genuinely love Classic but I am concerned on its overall player retention long-term.
