No, I have never played on a vanilla private server
I raided on warrior, rogue, druid and priest during the actual vanilla
The problem with this is what people have been saying, how far do we tread to retail. People are coming to classic for many different reasons and like you said LFM in trade is a reason. At what point do we stray too far from what people want from classic?
You say that like what you say is facts
I mean, it’s your opinion that it’s coming back soooo
Stud, as much as I like you, its semantics at this point.
This has given me chills. The fact that the dev team is so in touch with what the community wants is so amazing!!!
Keep up the great work and continue to listen to the community and wow will be around another 20 years.
Everyone thinks they will be in the number one guild on the server, just wait until they have their 4th MT poached by a guild further along in AQ40 than they are.
Some people wanted it as soon as TBC was released, others later, everyone wants classic for a different reason and their end point of enjoying retail was different.
But that wasn’t the general mentality of Vanilla players. Oh sure there were some bad apples, but for the most part people were generally pretty decent to one another. Again, i’m aware this wasn’t an absolute.
One point that I’ll agree with you though is that people did not have to talk, addon or no. And I’ve admitted to such, it could and did happen although it wasn’t the norm. But player mentality has changed over the last 15 years and we see how people act in retail toward each other. I really wonder if we’ll see more of that behavior in Classic because it’s so prevalent across the gaming industry or if Classic will encourage people to be more decent like in ages gone past.
If you dont believe me stick around, then you can call me liar later.
Opinion next
Oh lord don’t remind me about guild poaching, specially in TBC with all the pain in the butt attunements.
You been wrong for a long time now, better double down now right? LOL
True, but it is not going to the same no matter how much we want it to my friend, people are different, the world is different, like I said it will be similiar, but thats about it.
I haven’t been wrong in the least
Really think this was a bad decision. This addon would have improved the game for many players and really would have connected many more people.
The social experience of Vanilla was based on doing quests, and dungeons together, not spamming chat.
Yeah… that’s kinda what I just said?
Then with all due respect, you haven’t seen it in action in over ten years, whereas most of us have seen it within the last one to two. It means more than you think. We’re not basing this off of memories, we’re basic this off of extremely recent experiences where we are able to compare and contrast two drastically different design philosophies in action. Let the ex-private server players do the steering. We got Classic here in the first place. We got this. Just enjoy the ride.
Aye and this is why ill be avoiding all in game chat and just using a discord overly for my sever.
Screw dealing with the ingame spam
