How are they going to break this addon without also breaking addons such as DamageMeters and CT/DB mods which require talking to each other, or raid invite addons which helped guilds streamline raid invites?

I honestly believe all these guys wanting these kinda of add ons are the ones that kept saying NO to classic in the first place, or at least most of em. Now they wanna tuin it because they were wrong then too!

yep. rogue. camping orgrimmar and keeping up with group spam in trade chat was a normal lifestyle for the stealthed

lol you are out of your mind… You think because someone doesn’t want the LFG addon it means they want QOL changes like xmog or class balance? Those don’t belong just like LFG doesn’t. The LFG addon kills the community. We do not want it. Blizzard sees it as well as everyone else who is against it. We used /2 and gchat to find groups in vanilla. That’s how its gonna be again except there will probably a world chat.

Which is probably what he meant when he said:

we will be adding restrictions to the Classic add-on API that will significantly limit this add-on and others like it.

So I really think the victory party might be a bit premature because if they only break those two things it’s more like a compromise we can all be cool with.
No where in that statement is there anything saying these types of addons were being completely removed. Limited.

That’s explicitly what they’ve said they won’t support.

Not really, from the blue post it only sounds like the part they didn’t like was the addon’s ability to communicate with other people using the addon. That’s what he’s talking about in reference to a social network.

Nothing about what he says suggests that they’ll break an addons ability to parse or post in normal chat channels. They might, but that’s certainly not explicitly clear from the blue post.

I truly, honestly believe that if you want an LFG addon you should stick to retail.
