It should be an individuals choice if they use addons that were available in Classic. Im not saying i’d use the LFG addon personally. I WOULD have used RPer addons, but most actively require “between addon” communication that was allowed in Vanilla until this change. However, I am arguing that as an LFG addon existed in 2005, it is detrimental to the classic experience to ban such addons. It’s players choice, and -always- was even then. If people are worried the community will be too weak to resist it, then how could they resist third party sites that will likely do the same thing?
Lmao, you just proved that you didn’t play early WoW. Nice “evidence”
But this addon doesn’t really enhance the original wow classic. It just makes it avoid social situations.
Thank you!
I’m guess the devs looked at it and they know more about it than all of us. I am happy with this decision.
I never claimed to play early wow, im excited to get to play classic since I started playing in BC. I just wanted to call you out on BS for using logic that a tool that was around AFTER classic should be in classic
The auto invite portion of this addon was a bit much, but I don’t see the problem in people being able to flag themselves as LFG or LFM. It would cut down on spam in trade chat dramatically. You would still have to have the social interaction of speaking with and joining the group, it would just reduce the number of groups being blasted in trade chat nonstop.
1/10
For the effort. Not very original though.
Wow I didnt even think about this. Surely TRP will still work, right?
Just a listing website. No addons. No plugins.
I hated the World Quest Group Finder. Cool at first, but would never touch WOW Classic if things like that were in it.
Yeah, this is the problem. This was a big mod ever since Vanilla and if its being broken, there’s gonna be problems.
Nice strawman.
I don’t know how you managed to go from “game developers looked into the code for an addon made for their game and determined this” to “they can’t do anything wrong or make mistakes” but if you are normally in the habit of arguing and debating like this I can’t imagine you win very often.
What was his argument ? That its Blizzard they have devs and coder, w/e right? So he is arguing they have the ability to read the read the code. I my argument is what? That them having that technical expertise doesn’t mean they cannot be wrong. He made an argument that was an appeal to authority fallacy and i pointed out the flaw in such and argument and then added hyperbole.
If i debated like this often and cannot win often it MUST be because i am debating people like you, who know nothing about reason or logic.
Can you at least admit your error, doubt it.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hhKkP8LryYM 42:30 Ion said they were going to break addons like classiclfg over a year ago lol

ok 10 characters.
NOPE the creator said it is unlikely too. Since RP profiles require information to be shared between addons, TRP is effectively dead. This is a huge anti-RPer move that will be meaningless in the end, because if the community couldnt resist an addon, they wont resist 3rd party sites.
Depending which restrictions they add to the API, they might inadvertently break other addons.
I’d very surprised, and dismayed, if they did break such addons.
