They didn’t break threat meters, they changed how they have to work back to how they did in vanilla, if they killed addon communication though, they killed threat meters
… they existed in 2005. This is a change, because this stops addons that were previously able to communicate between each other. THIS IS A CHANGE. It’s not even a big deal to me personally, I only care for the -other- addons that it might break that dont do anything against the Vanilla spirit.
unlikely…
cause there were also whitelist addons which sent out mass invites as well…
Nope you are most certainly the minority. Most players don’t even look at the forms or reddit. Most just log in and play and go about their life. only a small group of people, like yourself, actually whine on the forums about this kind of stuff.
Well. You better call up blizzard quick.
They’re only a company full of developers and game designers that looked over a chunk of code written for their own game.
checked your achieves, you started in late BC kid. good try tho
Addons that affect 1 person vs addons that affect a community, apples to oranges.
If that was all the addon actually did I dont think I would have had a problem with it. And I dont think most people would have had a problem with that.
For me the problem with the addon is that it allowed people to start groups within it, invite people within the addon, it spammed chat for you and it automated reply messages.
I think they had to because it was tied to something else. They said it could be remade by a player but it would not be precise, only ballpark.
What does this even mean? Are you suggesting Blizzard can do no wrong. Not a single person their could be wrong… Amazing. You better call up Blizzard tell them to start playing the lotto or curing cancer.
Very pleased about this decision. If we wanted to play retail we would be doing so with much better support than a third-party addon.
See you all very soon once again in the greatest game!
Fantastic news!!! Been hoping blizzard would step in on crap like this
I’ve been playing since day one, check my achieves.
I didn’t plan on using the addon but I completely understand the consequences of breaking it entirely, which to be fair they probably won’t do.
the functionality is in the blizzard provided api. this addon didnt invent that. without blizzard changing it other addons or pinning this addon at a specific version will happily use it
I do actually agree i don’t like the automated chat function. However, automation was the name of vanilla wow. Healers and dps could basically be a macro/script.
i was talking to Extrathicc, not you
which they aren’t bring back - thank goodness!
botting is bad!
How will this affect addons such as Total Roleplay 3? They rely heavily on being able to share information. They aren’t MANDATORY for an RP community, but you guys have done so little to actually give players individuality in their character models in Vanilla. So, will you make exceptions for Bloodsail Buccaneers and allows addons to work based on their actual function? Or is this gonna be a full change that Vanilla didn’t have?
Thank you so much!
Quoting something is, apparently, not remotely the same thing as understanding it. Or the context of which addons come into play.
You’re just being sensational if you think blocking an addon is community manipulation
GUYS, DON THY TIN FOIL HATS. DONT LET THEM MANIPULATE OUR MINDS.
