ClassicLFG addon

I said this earlier. I am very much against it, but I suspected something like this.

I’m not the one spamming the forums with my alt army to break an addon’s functionality that existed in Vanilla. Which as others have pointed out may break other addonss that use that same functionality.
I hope dps meters break. At least ele shamans will be viable. And feralol. Lol.

Man, I would love to see them remove that ability, since they would also completely break RP addons and a lot of other stuff as well.

As they should be broken. The people that love retail shouldn’t have those expectations going into Classic. That is the player base that we vanilla players want to separate from.

they still are, they kneecapped them in the past few years, but you can still make simple ones, but they are far from ideal.

I healed primarily until Wrath and never dpsed anything other than a hunter in BC, and he never did more than Kara, so I never used them then, maybe that steady shot one, i really do not remember.

I don’t personally give a crap about questhelper. If people want to ruin the experience for themselves, fine.

LFG on the other hand - had the ability to distract and change social dynamics of this game beyond just its users.

Maybe the bulk of us just saw the writing on the wall

Agreed, blizzard never gets it right. Literally have to copy a 15 year old game for people to be like they are doing such a good job. Look at the changes they have made, Layer, awful server roll out, breaking vanilla like addons just cause ignorant people with no clue about Vanilla felt is wasn’t part of vanilla, i am almost sure they break spell-damage with attack items (honestly i don’t even care, as it doesn’t really effect me, but i get why people don’t like it.)

Yeah, the writing is on the wall, but i wouldn’t be that smug about it. You should morn.

People can ask, that doesn’t mean it’s going to happen. I don’t think it’s really slippery slope. It isn’t people just wanting to ban an addon they don’t like, it’s that we feel that it significantly sidesteps and undermines an iconic, classic experience in a way that also detracts from communication and community. If you don’t share that opinion, well, that’s your opinion. In this case, Blizzard agreed that this addon is crossing a line and will probably nerf (but unlikely break) it.

That doesn’t mean they’ll feel the same way about ElvUI, Postal, threat meters, etc.

Good choice!

It’s a logic concept that one decision will inevitably lead to a (usually) negative consequence.

Of course they are. That was hinted about over and over in the fallacious arguments here in the forums and elsewhere around the internet.

If blizzard has time, I’m sure they’ll look into certain addons that have certain behaviors.

Just like they did in this case. What’s the issue? Blizzard isn’t a ball rolling downhill mindlessly barreling through things.

They’ll take the time to study each addon and come to a conclusion, if they follow the same investigation method they used with LFG.

After so much hypocrisy about making classic WOW the real Vanilla experience, this LFG addon and it’s vast support just proves that “NO CHANGES” was complete bullshiet. No changes when it’s convenient for you.

So you think Classic is going to have a huge drop off like the guy I was replying to?

Because I think its going to be a huge success. It already is.

If they just broke inter-addon communication that’s a whole host of problems, threat meters, which they already deemed as OK after they removed some of the API require it, many RP addons require it, dps meters require it, it’s just a mess depending on how they broke it.

If you want LFG, stay in retail. That is all I have to say to you people who don’t know how to properly socialise with people in a MMO.

My guess is that any fix or “breaking” will be removing the ability for the addon to communicate with other clients and possibly breaking auto inviting functions. That would effectively destroy LFG Addis’s all together. You could create an add on to spam chat I suppose, but you could just macro a horsey for that…

I am delighted beyond words. Giddy and twirling around in my room.

Yes i agree.

Ok. You got me.
It’s true though. Breaking this is going to break other things that were available. That is another change.
