Sure. After they have a nice relaxing weekend - after giving us such great news.
First off before you make another post/reply, check what game is releasing Monday…its Classic not BC not wotlk LOL
I don’t understand this, surely they realize we will find an alternative even if it’s out of the game. Then it will become a “go on CLassicLFG. com”/ClassicLFG discord instead of “download ClassicLFG”
Thank you so much for responding with such good news. This addon really put me off Classic and was ready to step off the hype train but now I know you will destroy this addon I can feel the hype building inside me again
The main reason I want to play classic is to stay away from LFG bs, so this makes me really, really happy
they will change something that will affect more than just this addon, they are not known for precision.
Will this “change” affect other addons? What addon is next?
How do they decide what is or isn’t a good fit for classic?
A couple of threads on reddit leads to swift api changes?
The original vanilla api allowed a ton of things that can’t be done now.
down the slippery slope we go
Late classic, and extremely underutilized. I was a hardcore player and never heard of it. Chances are, most hasn’t either.
ok
Whatever. Is this the slippery slope hotline?
I think you’re just being obtuse here. A dps or threat meter isn’t a social interaction. It’s data parsing.
At any rate, feel free to talk about the addon, instead of looking for ways to move the goalposts.
No one can refuse this. Its just some big names + an issue they can toss out to distract from their awful handling of servers.
That addon is VANILLA like, them asking for it to be removed because they hardly played vanilla or don’t remember it isn’t a valid argument. A lot of people never used healing addons … or even macros. So if their member was you don’t have those should blizzard now break all such addons.
Honestly NAMEPLATE addons were far more rare. And i don’t expect many people will be arguing for them to go away (and they are far more impactful).
I see you didn’t play during Classic.
Decursive says hello
Thank you blizzard! There is some hope left in the world!!
It’s called case by case basis. It’s not all addons or no addons. Don’t be dense ok?
Yeah, it struck me as a bit trolly.
That’s probably all Blizzard is going to do with this addon, is inhibit automation. I seriously doubt they’ll just break it completely, as I understand many other addons could be broken as a result. A group finder addon will probably still exist, it’ll probably still parse chat and show you who’s looking, but it’ll probably require more hardware inputs to /invite them.
What slippery slope? People are already on here asking for these addons and others like Questie to be removed. The slippery slope is real.
One way they could minimize the text spam in /4 lfg is to make it just zone wide, not realm wide. If we are having 10k peeps on a server this should not be a problem. I could be changed later on if it is not enough.
No reason to ‘keep track of who is what in your group’. If you don’t know that by the first pull, then there are heavier concerns afoot. If everyone could see everyone else’s spec, then it could create the decline to the community as gear score did in WotLK (I originally said BC when GS came out, but I misspoke, and when it came out is hardly relevant. The important thing is that it did impact the overall game in a negative way).
To be honest, I haven’t been happy with the way Blizzard has managed its properties in quite a few years. First I was a harsh critic, and then later I simply stopped bothering to play your products, but I have to say:
You’ve been knocking it out of the park with Classic. This is exactly the sort of response I’d hoped for, that cuts to the heart of the issue and acts decisively to preserve the design decisions which underline Classic and serve to drive the social MMO experience it is. If finding a group is trivial, you have less incentive to invite friends or network with others.
Keep up the good work.
Are you serious? Are you expecting Classic to have that much of a drop off in just 6 months?
If that happened, we’d have much bigger problems on our hands.
As does the stock UI. A lot of us modded the stock UI because it was next to useless.
