Pretty sure the intent is for you to find a guild and some friends and network with them to get stuff done, not pug everything ad nauseam.
Have a happy and good weekend, stranger. <3
an addon is by definition third party
I think you overestimate your ability to analyze emotions from text, maybe don’t bother trying in the future.
Some people will. Personally, I think that number will be a lot smaller than the number of people who would have used this.
I agree with this. A lot of people may be wasting their time working on addons right now. BLizz should just spell out what’s being removed asap so people can either re-adjust their addons or cancel them outright.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Whether or not its what they want, its what they are going to get. It’s simply a matter of how frustrating itistouse.
Here are thepossible outcomes of this announcement:
-
They take the lightest approach. Addons are rewritten to parse chat, function the same as auto grouping tools but require button presses to accept groups. Marginally annoying but functionally the same.
-
They take a heavy approach. Many other addons that are unrelated are broken as collateral. People move to a combination of communitybased pseudoautolfg and websites.
-
Addons completely screwed, people just move back to websote based entirely like in and before mop, just before the initial rise of the lfg addon whose name i cant remember.
There is no option 4 where peop,e forgo automated group finding, see the error of their ways and decide to join the trade chat spam or commit to guilds out of the blue.
Live wow isn’t driving player behavior, player behavior changed modern live wow. You are all out of your minds if you think people are just going to play along with your rose-tinted memories and not just find the closest faximile oh what they like.
People will play classic because bfa is a turd, but its not a turdbecause of lfg in most people’s eyes. Those people will find the easiest way around the systems that exists, with 15 years of experience to draw on. Best get used to the idea now. Chuck your hissyfits, get addons changed… whatever. Water offa duck’s back. Openraid works just fine as well, and is impossible for blizzard to block.
People are free to try and get around blizzards way of cutting off addons to get them to work.
It’s their risk, and the risk of people that use it, of getting banned after all.
ClassicLFG worked the same way vQueue works they just have different skins. Both do way more then just scan chat.
You shouldn’t be worried. The MAJORITY of people will not be engaging in those activities because the MAJORITY of people were against this addon and everything it represents.
Let alone that, most people won’t go through the effort of using a 3rd party system for finding groups.
Amen.
So glad it was axed. It was clearly getting out of hand. Kinda funny, though, how in several threads several posters were claiming Blizzard approved of the “chat parser.”
People are in for a rude awakening when the only thing that is broke is auto-listing / auto-invite lol
Yes but for an objection to be valid it needs to be true…
not a single objection raised about this is true…
It does not automate anything( inv macro is not automation)
It does not reduce communication( requires the exact same ammount of communication as spamming chat)
It does not harm the community( how its the same as spamming chat)
It does not add something that was not in vanilla(stones+CTA)
please tell me a reason this addon is bad… Ill wait.
The amount of Fing Sh*t that was flying around those threads…Cray Cray
It was really just a few very long-winded trolls that act like contrarians about everything.
I’m sorry, the people defending the add-on are insane…It was never ever that hard to find a group to do dungeons with in Vanilla…Good job Blizz…
#MAGA
I just don’t care.
The vast majority of the responses are positive. You can’t please everyone, but this is absolutely what the majority wanted. Great job.
