I rarely see any other add-on being advertised on the forums. Why does the ClassicLFG Add-On crowd feel compelled to bring attention to their innocent little add-on? Makes me think of the old saying…Where there’s smoke there’s fire.
This add-on’s function will be restricted by Blizzard soon. Why not wait to “advertise” after Blizzard reducing it to rumble? Again, just curious…
I haven’t touched it since I didn’t like the LFG tool we had before the LFD tool. I’d rather talk to people but I main a tank so I guess I am the LFD tool ._.
Were you here a few days before launch? The streamers made videos about this addon a few days before classic launched. Mind you. This very addon was available since classic beta. Not much was said about it.
If I remember right there was one, maybe two threads about it. Which didn’t gain any traction. Basically the OP was told don’t worry. No one will use it. Shut up.
Their sheep lit these forums up with their alt armies after their videos.
Blizz actually looked into it and didn’t like a couple features. Promising to break those features in an upcoming patch.
In one of the multiple threads a blue responded.
The addon author has been harassed and recieved threats over it. However. It was just recently updated. So it is being actively worked on.
So basically. The reaction to this particular addon could be inflammatory. Not saying that’s the intent behind OP but anyone who was here for the original riot could see it that way.
So maybe the topic is to get some digs into the sheep? Idk. I do know it put the impact social media has on us and how it can influence masses of people into the spotlight.
Even people who don’t watch streamers were influenced. Whether they know it or not.
The creator redesigned it. Same name but it functions differently now. It’s basically just a chat parser that filters the lfg chat. So you don’t miss people lfg through all the other stuff.
its funny that people who want a system to aid in helping to find groups is “against the spirit of classic wow” but multi boxing, which is basically pay to win is completely ok.
I was just think today how much I love BGs, and how I really don’t want to walk into the instance and just wait for enough people to join. And while on the topic, I see no reason PvP shouldn’t yield XP. I think that was one of the best things they ever did.
1 - to show everyone that the whole streamer meltdown was a big to do over nothing, but the streamers enjoyed the publicity.
2 - to rub it in some more because the doomsayers rubbed it in pretty hard when Blizz announced they were breaking it.
I was never against the add on, and I defended it more than once. And even when Blizz said they’d break part of it, I knew the meat and potatoes would still be there. It was just never that bad. That said, I haven’t bothered to try it yet, lol.
