Classic Zul Aman 5man Heroic is Overtuned

ZulAman is way over tuned and doing way too much damage. I’m in full 359 item level gear with 4 set bonus and the whole deal yet I cant keep the 9k gs tank alive for 1 trash pull? Incredible. This place gives 353 gear so there’s literally no upgrades for me here yet the difficulty makes it seem like I should be getting upgrades.

Just awful tuning.

It was like this in vanilla Cata too. Tanks coming in at ~346 have a very hard time here, even BDKs.

Have you tried using CC :3

been runing my preraid dk in za its so fun if i dont watch out my dk gets run over on sernt packs have to time my cooldown and tb trinket no clue how it is as healing but im haveing fun

I don’t think it’s overturned. It was just released today… So far every time I queue it was mostly full of all ppl not knowing the mechanics… after running a couple times and ppl started to interrupt and/or stop standing in bad the dungeon isn’t bad… Next week we’ll be flying through the dungeon like we do all of the other heroic dungeons.

Nah, it’s not that bad. ZA is miles easier than ZG.

It’s all just a mechanics check. You will wipe if you go in completely blind.

Of course, the key is to stay vigilant on interrupts. Will make a big difference on how much damage goes out.

Welcome to how Cata was originally with ALL of their dungeons.

I’m glad to see they released these likes this.

I don’t think they are that bad, but I did do them in OG Cata so it kind of came down to me remembering things. People who’ve never experienced these from OG Cata will have a bit more difficult time.

Things that will help groups in there are:

CC and Interrupts (at least for now). Everyone is now use to AOE fests in current dungeons and so that is going to make things a bit worse.

Lots of roaming packs and gotchas

Lots of mechanics (cauldrons, chains, Body Slams, Walls of Purple things, adds spawning on both sides if boss not done correctly, stacking, on-purpose one-shots, etc).

I think you’ll find in about a week or so things will calm down.

Doing it as a guild group did make them alot easier though. But my first 2 completions were done in pugs.

I find them quite fun.

I 100% agree. Do it with your friends or guildmates – people who if you make a mistake or learning it won’t be a big deal if you don’t make the timer or you die to Tiki Masks Flames of Death, etc.

kill the flame casters first and debuff the mobs when u can. crush the totems.

I have gotten the bear mount every time I queue rdf and get ZA.

I do see healers going oom alot tho.

Literally healing it on a fresh 85 resto Druid, 339 equipped ilvl. Just grabbed boes in my bags. It’s a joke to heal it.

Only hard hitting boss is bear, just use bigger heals.

On a resto shaman, it’s even easier.

Only classes I see struggle are priests, they only cast smite and can’t figure out why the tanks are dying.

I have much less fun healing ZG because people don’t know how to interrupt or use the cauldrons. ZA is a breeze. The timer is lenient enough to have a full on wipe and still make the timer.

And an extra rant… why the hell don’t mages abuse spellsteal?

Ive only done ZG so far, but the only thing i remember from that run was some buff that gave a chance to earthquake on hit. Where are the good ones?

On ZA there are fire casters whose buff you can steal which can make you do 80k+ dps. If you save one of them with CC (and are nice to healer’s mana with other interrupts/stuns, etc) you can SS their buff right before Hex Lord and ignore the add and burn the dude in less than 10 seconds.

There’s also a lot of shields which are great to SS in both instances saving priest mana on dispel - or shamans from purging - and you take no damage.

I joined my 1st ZA run earlier.

I couldnt remember anything from OG Cata… but we rolled thru it, no wipes.

I CAN remember when ZA and ZG were introduced in OG Cata, and it was a wipefest LOL.

Seems easier to me.
