Classic WoW is set to totally overshadow modern WoW

I think we really need to help support Blizzard as a company, and also the purse-holding overlords, in recognising this.

If you think about all the famous musicians, writers and artists - not uncommonly their true masterpieces came early in their careers. Yes, they continued producing works but not quite as good. I think, with the benefit of time, we are really getting to know what made a game like Classic WoW fun. If we can really distill that fun again, then hey, what’s there not to stop a new golden age of MMOs?

possible routes

  1. only classic vanilla. the end.
  2. only classic vanilla that reboots every 4 years.
  3. classic vanilla with separate tbc and separate wotlk
  4. classic vanilla progresses to wotlk, reboots after 3 years of wotlk
  5. classic vanilla and a separate alternative classic+

It’d be cool if they could bring up separate Vanilla and TBC servers and gave you the option to permanently upgrade your character to the next xpack, that way you can have a ton of cool stuff to do or just stick to one game if that pleases you.

No changes. No new content. Our best hope is that the ill-received systems in retail get expunged and said unexplored areas and content get added to retail in an upcoming expansion.

Well that is not exactly accurate, you can dig youtube or twitch and see by your self what happened in this few days in classic beta, it’s been epic, streamers admitting they never seen such thing in their entire career, that was absolutely epic EX 100+vs100+ lvl 30 alliance v horde in Arathi vanilla like, because there is no mount no LFR no garrison lol, so people need to be in the freaking world and… the magic happens.

Even pro players regreting talking BS about classic simply because they didn’t know…
Venruki Arena PRO from Method: I was WRONG about CLASSIC! Here’s Why you can see his reasoning about both games, and you gotta consider unlike many of us he is not a casual BFA.

Just like any other he was defending the current state of the game with no reason to believe that an older version could be more fun or worse. :sunglasses:

Whatever just wait and join classic, I hope you won’t stop before 40, it’s gonna be long but it will be a lot fun, I’d recommend you a PVP server just for fun, just use chat channels and people will come to help, or make friends to be in group, (that social part doesn’t exist anymore in retail) if you don’t like to be ganked any moment go PVE.

That I’ve already done…

Be cool but I would rather have the servers for TBC and Wrath start fresh.

Legion had the largest quantity of hard/unforgiving bosses and hardest boss.

Helya, Avatar, KJ (hardest), and Argus were all extremely hard.

Raid difficulty keeps going up.

BfA isn’t quite as hard (Blizz prob tried to not make it as much, especially after how ToS was criticized for being too hard).

Then we got Uunat though so…??

vanilla wasnt hard mechanically, but it was hard in every other way. its mmorpg. retail is action lobby.

Uh… not permanent.

One-time character copy or bust. I don’t want to end up trying TBC on my main or an alt only to find I hate it and then be SOL when going back to Classic.

i like and dont like this idea at same time. i like it because it will be like classic is for us right now–will be new and exciting. but i love tbc so much that i’d miss it while having to go thru wotlk then wait for reboot then wait thru classic again .

maybe they could have both. 1) non changing and separate. and 2) changing, progression, where one rolls into the other

or maybe 3) non-changing and separate with a reboot every 4 years of each one. like server wipe and everybody starts back at square 1 of that game (either vanilla, tbc or wotlk)

yeah sorry, that’s what i actually meant lol

If it does become more popular than retail then its not going to be something to be excited about. It might just be barely more crowded than BFA if your lucky. I dont think people really wants to play a version of wow that they cant progress in due to the lack of time required to build the character up, especially once AQ/naxx drops. Ill play it for the leveling experience (and maybe some pvp) for a warrior but thats it. Everything else beyond that is pointless. Good luck grinding mobs all day everyday, and then raiding about 3-5 times a week, and then waiting for so long to get good gear mostly because most bosses only drops 2 items, amd most of the items that drops from bosses are pure garbage. and i wish you the best of luck getting R14 with the full set, your gonna have to quit your job or whatever that keeps you busy all the time just to achieve that.

ever watch joana’s speed leveling videos? some people are so efficient with their time, they can play this game with no time wasted.

Ive heard of it. But im not just talking about leveling.

I thought addons weren’t allowed in the new classic? Will we be able to use the old addons again??

i’m just using that as an example. people who are really good at organizing their time.

so far, some of them seem to be okay. some not. like no add-on for dungeon or raid finder will be allowed. nothing that automates play such as the original decursive or scripting

Oh god no. What a pathetic attempt grasp at straws. Everyone is already bored out of their minds at 30, literally half way through max level, in less than a WEEK of beta. That alone speaks volumes of how dead the release will be within a few months server launch. It’s not just streamers maxing out fast, it’s everyone. And I garuntee if it wasn’t capped at 30 everyone would already be 60 jumping around bored in IF/Org

That alone is whats most troubling with looking at classic. It may overshadow retail in the first 3 weeks… but after that, it’ll be dead and dust

There’s very little to Do at 30, and it’s a beta you can’t compare something that is temporary like a beta with a static progression server.
