I know I sure couldn’t when I was on the stress test realm.
I’ve noticed two things when it comes to classic. They argue for no changes, then blizzard does it. THEN they argue for added content that was planed for it, which is a change, regardless. So it’s mostly changes that they want, nothing else.
A small part of me is waiting for ‘‘you thought you did but you didn’t’’ to make a come back as a reversed meme.

I think you’re overestimating how difficult Vanilla was. The skill ceiling for Vanilla wasn’t very high. The kiddie generation of 14 years ago has grown up. You guys are now the core audience. If Vanilla was easy for us back then, then it’ll be easy for you guys now. The only difference is that with 1.12, it’ll take no time and event less thought.
I’m already laughing at myself about it. First I laugh at private servers for being inaccurate - but it turns out they were over tuned not undertuned. Then 1.12 comes out and it’s like … this. The joke is so on me.

Vanilla was also the ‘‘easy’’ casual mmo back then, that’s why it became so popular it didn’t punish you for dying, you couldn’t be looted for all your gear and money, you didn’t de-level when you died etc etc etc

I totally agree. If Classic really takes off, build a Classic+ or something, no need to alter the museum piece.
You have some great coolaid.
Right now in BFA you can still do 15 years of content that is not available in classic.

you’re under the mistaken impression that content that isn’t 8.0 is relevant, hell most people don’t consider the current patch relevant because 8.2 is coming out.
Sure, there are several expansions worth of stuff to do but very few people actually consider that content.
Cats was the beginning of the decline…please for the love of God stop at WOTLK.
I keep saying,while i want TBC and wrath servers i think it’s way to early and very premature to already be bickering over them.

Everytime I’ve played in vanilla server I’ve had a blast. It’s the fact that everything you do matters and is meaningful. On retail it just feels pointless. Once you have it’s hard to go back to retail. I think many will see that. Even once you’ve cleared MC many times and are waiting for BWL to come out, can you really go back to Island Expeditions or warfronts? Yikes.
The biggest thing for many of us is our progress will not get wiped like on every vanilla server since 2011 so that will keep a lot of people.
