Classic WoW is killing Retail WoW

Going after the protodrake for retail.

Come back next week and tell us where they are…

I don’t mind a drought if I had a good time

Problem with slands is I had a bad time being manipulated by bloated systems and really had zero new content since 9.2

This wow team isn’t designing around player value or entertainment and the game is massively suffering because of it

Classic isn’t killing retail lol

A good guild goes a long way, especially during content droughts. The one I’m in now still does M+ and other PvE things. I’d look at the top-ranked and most active guilds on your realm and interview with their recruitment team to determine if it’s a good fit. That’s how I found the one that I’m in now. They’re good people and when I do game with them I have a good time. Also consider doing more IRL stuff and you won’t notice the drought as much.

I don’t know about you but as a working professional that has to be at the office Monday through Friday until 5PM I don’t have a bunch of extra time for WoW outside of doing self-care stuff, errands, and chores. But perhaps you’re in an earlier part of your life as I once was. In which case I’d say make the most of it. Go after the rarest most exclusive things in this game that others wouldn’t have the time for because of our working life (career).

Best of luck to you. Also just want to add this thought I just had onto the end. Consider a guild that is on retail and Classic this way you can game with them no matter what. Again, best of luck to you and may you find happiness

By low what exactly do you mean? 2s and 3s fill quickly due to uncapped valor. I’ve had trouble filling my 9s and 10s but I’ve just assumed that was due to my score, and those aren’t what I would necessarily consider ‘low’ anyway, ‘average’ or ‘mid’ or something would be better labels for the 9-15 range imo.

I haven’t applied to any of those yet, only got my ilvl and such to what I would consider acceptable last week. If there aren’t many people applying though maybe I’ll go ahead and get my Slimecat then, I was just gonna ignore it because I don’t like green and so won’t ever use it.

i agree classic has made alot people switch. heck my classic server is dead and has more activity than my supposedly full retail server and ya my bnet friends all say wrath classic.

There’s going to be a low amount of players until dragonflight. There’s always a calm before the storm that is a new expansion.

Curious to see retail is having an issue with lack of population, while my server in Classic has enough people in queue to fill 2 servers. This only in prepatch and constantly happening.

The amount of copium from people saying its not because of Classic is just plain funny. They come over and tell how boring it is while the vast majority of the community is playing it over WoW 2

You don’t think they intentionally planned on WotLK to be during the slowest period of SL?

I blame chicken little on this :pouting_cat:

We’re in the sixth weak of season 4. A lot of people are just done, waiting for the pre-patch event.

this late in an expansion players dont care about 5man content.

Don’t worry, once everyone gets to level 80 and GDKP becomes endgame it will die down again. We are also in the liminal space between end of expansion and beginning of pre-patch for new expansion. It’s ALWAYS been slow at this time.

Classic is just a better game. Besides combat mechanics. Retail definitely does a better job on that end. Wrath is ok. Vanilla is clearly the best tho.

I’m trying to play retail and literally nobody says a word. It’s bizarre.

That’s probably the worst part of the game.

It’s more like Classic is so bad, it’s making retail look good lol

Its the final months of an expansion. I expect a big burst of players come the launch of DF. Not that youll see many the way the layering works.

One thing I like about Classic is that you see the same players all the time.

I always find it so weird gamers in particular feel like it’s one or the other always.

I’m now a game designer myself, and you can have classic and retail coexist, they do coexist. It’s not a pick a side argument. It’s which one do you prefer to play?. Personally I’ve never stopped playing classic im in love with it since it dropped in 2019 and even prior >.>

But I also enjoy retail wow, I enjoy playing FF14. I enjoy OSRS.

Like I don’t understand why gamers feel like it’s this or that haha.

As long as you’re giving $$ to blizzard whether it’s a sub/in store items you’re supporting classic and you’re supporting retail.

You say classic is killing retail, but that’s not true. Retail was dying fine on it’s own, Classic is just carrying the sub numbers.

Personally, I’m subbed for classic, But I do log into retail to mess around for a bit while I catch up on Youtube videos about Retail dying cause raid clears have been so low or how S̶h̶a̶d̶o̶w̶l̶a̶n̶d̶s Dragonflight is going to be better.

Imagine being able to play both in 2022 if you so choose do you have mental illness?
