I’m not sure how the system generated ETA (which is obviously incorrect right now) has any way of showing you the “urgency” of what’s going on behind the scenes.
If you’re watching that as an indication of the work being done, you might want to find something else to pass the time more productively
60 UD Mage from Faerlina to Earthfury also, I wish mine was only 15 hours, I am sitting at just shy of 24 hours now. Would love an update on this. Pretty obvious you guys are vastly understaffed, which isn’t your fault. Seems to be the going theme at many large companies in gaming lately. Not only do we suffer as customers, but you guys as employees suffer by extension.
Orlyia’s post from three hours ago is the current update on what’s going on. When there’s more given to them to share, they will most definitely share it.

I want to thank you so much for your patience while I looked into your ticket today. Reading over your ticket I understand that you recently completed a character migration and would now like to look into reversing it.
I am afraid though that all free character migrations are final and irreversible. As this is a code limitation Customer Support cannot bypass this restriction.
There is currently no character service system in place for World of Warcraft Classic, so we don’t even have the ability to initiate a Character Transfer from our end in Classic. Classic is just not coded to support these kind of changes at this time.

That was the response i got guess i had a different issue mine was i transfered and they stopped mid way through so i had toons on different servers and they say hey you’re screwed because we messed up.
That isn’t the same issue as this thread. You would indeed need to post in either the Classic General Forum, or send in a suggestion via the in game tool so that the Developers can see it. This was not a mess up, they stopped the transfers for one faction because it became unbalanced. There is nothing that Customer Support can really do for you.
If that were even remotely true, then what would they gain by not doing it? Whether it’s a technical limitation or prohibited by policy, they both achieve the same thing: Customer Support (and Service) cannot help.
That seems rather unfair. So your intent was to move all your toons to the other server and midway through that process they cut it off and you ended up with toons on multiple servers. They should at least allow you to revert the transfers to re-consolidate your characters. A blue in another thread did say that was possible. It’s a shame that a GM chose not to do that for you.
To be clear, the GM is following policy, not a personal choice. While it might be possible to have the characters moved back, my understanding is that it’s not something a GM can do. It would likely need to be done by a separate team and would likely take some time.

I don’t recall anything about it being a separate team. And everything takes time. But I don’t recall anything about it taking an extended period of time if that’s what you meant. I agree that he should re-open his ticket and mention that a blue in the CS forum said reverting the transfer was a possible solution.
It just seems very unfair to this player to leave him stranded like this.
I don’t recall anything that says specifically that a GM can do it. Vrak said that it’s possible but did not go into details. What we do have details on from multiple blues is that GMs can’t revert transfers in Classic. So that leads me to believe while it might be possible, it wouldn’t likely be done by a GM.
If I’m right (and a blue will certainly correct me if I’m not), then it stands to reason that it would have to be escalated and those take additional time to get processed.
The reason Adete should re-open the ticket is to clarify that this is not a typical situation of wanting to revert a transfer.
The development team are the ones who initiate the free transfers. Which is a horse of a different colour from character services.Game masters simply don’t have the feature currently in their tool set to move characters.
Which is WHY Orlyia said she’s passed the issue along to those who can look in to it. She has access to the mostly the same toolset in game GMs have.
Pu please stop with the continual passive aggressive slights against GMs and Blizzard. They’re counter productive, and why almost every thread you post in gets locked. You come in , make a slight, and then say the same thing 27 other people have already said.

Well that makes sense. I suppose then that we can only hope that the next GM will decide to escalate the ticket to the next level where Adete’s problem can be remedied.
