I’ve been thinking more and more about this GDKP topic and realized this:

What incentive does a fully geared player have to go back and do old content?

Most people who are fully geared/caught up on end game content are not willing to go back and do old content unless they do it on an alt or are carrying a friend.

If GDKPs were to vanish, there would be no incentive to keep playing the game or raiding on your main toon as you will have completed all the content and Classic isn’t dynamic like Retail so you’re kinda stuck doing the same 3 activities which will make people quit.

I think in a way, GDKPs as bad as they are for the game also keep the game alive by giving a reason for people to go back and do old content.
